Road Trip

Well, I went and came back.
I got to Alexandria on time, only to discover that you can't rent a hotel room in Louisiana unless you're 21. Well now, what am I supposed to do? I'm hundreds of miles from home on either direction! At least 6 hours from home and 4 hours from Luling! The only options are: find a nice comfortable truck stop, or just keep driving. I just kept driving. My dad didn't like the truck stop idea and I didn't like the cramped-up-sleeping idea.
I got to my buddies' house a little after 21:00 after taking the grand interstate tour of New Orleans. Not to worry, I was tired and soon went to bed.
Sunday morning, we all went to church. I wore my baggy black jeans that mom hates so much! just because I can.
I really really liked Crossroads Community Church. The people there already knew about me not being able to rent a hotel room - gossip travels FAST! The people were so "real" though. Not like the upity church that my family goes to. It was even better than Holland Chapel. My mom and grandpa wouldn't approve much since it isn't "Baptist" but I live my own life. If I lived there, I would definately attend there weekly. It was a very long, unusual service, and the Mexicans cooked for us afterwards. We had really awesome fried catfish!
There was no evening service, so we didn't have to go back at night. I don't rightly remember if we did anything "exciting" Sunday night, I think Kate came over and we just played games and stuff. Daniel had school on Monday so we didn't stay up late.

On Monday Kate picked me up and we went shopping while Dan was at school. 1 - Kate is not the best driver 2 - she doesn't know where anything is. jejeje I had lots of fun anyway. I bought Amber a birthday present, so it was a successful trip. We went to Sam's, Barenes & Noble, Comp USA and...seems like one other place. I dunno.
Later we took Kate's brother Adam to his Jr ROTC thing, and the rest of us went out to the Community Coffee place. I'm not too keen on "expensive coffee" coz I usually just drink whatever joe I can get my hands on, and real men drink it black.
On Monday night everyone got sick, including Daniel. Someone brought a sick kid to church on Sunday so I guess that was it. Me and my cast iron stomach came out OK though. Tuesday, Dan was still sick and he stayed home from school. I got Sonic for Jason and mine's dinner. Mrs Renee cooked pork chops and green beans w/sausage for supper - it was very good.
On Wednesday, I slept in! jejeje I usually get up at 7:00 regardless, but I think I slept till almost 9:00 on Wednesday!

Road Trip, part 2

I think we took pictures with the digi cam during the afternoon. Jason and I did, while Dan was at school. Then later Daniel cooked! It was SO awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd eat that meal over and over again.
Thursday, I got up at 7:00 again, and then I woke Jason up early too. I kidnapped Jason and we eloped in Raceland at Spahr's. Actually, we were looking for gators but we only saw a snake.
I also stole Daniel's shirt. I had tried to get it from him at camp last year but he wouldn't let me have it. I told him I would come to his house and steal it! Guess what, I did! He said it was too short on him, so he let me have it.
Friday, Dan got out of school around noon. I taught him to drive a standard! It was fun, he adapted quite well. Then we went home and got Jason and we went muddin at the spillway!!!!!!!!!!!! Muddin is the most fun redneck activity ever! and the guys were much impressed with my driving skills. Hey, I'm from Arkansas, we do this kinda thing all the time
(well, I've never officially been muddin before but....it comes naturally to some I guess)
My truck was actually muddier than it looked in the pictures! It didn't look red at all in person, but the camera picked up the red through the dirt better than my eyes did. After that, we went to Kate's house for supper. She cooked Mexican for us. It too was good, but Kate cooks kinda like I do. Things tend to go wrong. lol Not the end of the world of course, but it makes life interesting.
After supper we went to Moccachino's which is the coffee shop where Kate works. That was an interesting trip, and very good coffee. We almost forgot to pay for our drinks!!!!!! It was hilarious! I had even started my truck before Kate came running up and says that we forgot to pay! I stole Jason's drumsticks that night too. (I'm evil like that sometimes)
I stayed Friday night at Kate's house. It was great fun. We played games, then the Straights left, then Kate and I and her 2 brothers (Alex and Adam) played games for a while. Kate and I went to bed at 23:00ish but we didn't go to sleep till 2:00. Two O'Clock was significant because when Dan left he told us not to stay up past 2!
Saturday morning, we got up early, 7-ish. We were going to go downtown to the French Quarter and such, but Kate's dad didn't get up anytime early, and then he didn't just want to say "ok you can go" he wanted to talk for an hour. Then we had to stop by the bank, and Kate forgot to stop at the bank, so we had to go back.....anyway, we never got to go downtown, it got late. We went to a park, the name I don't recall. There I saw Nutria. Water-dwelling opossoms IMO. Also lots of birds, ducks, geese, etc. Then we ate at Denny's. That was good ol food. We went to lake Pontchartrain and went "beachcombing" for a while. Adam and Alex took a LOT of pictures of us. It was GREAT fun! I brought home an old record and half of a pool ball (sripes, number 11), as well as some pictures and Jason's drumsticks, and Daniel's shirt.
Sunday morning, I actually took a shower. I got everyone up to see me off. I was planning to leave by 8ish, but it was after 8:30 when I actually left, probably closer to 9. They gave me a travel coffee mug to take with me, so I actually took home a lot of their stuff. I do pretty good, if I do say so myself. Daniel made me a pillow! That was, um interesting and very shocking. I didn't know he could sew! I waited on him to finish it, that's partly why I was late leaving. I'm amazed really.
The trip home wasn't eventful, except that I was north of El Dorado before it really quit raining. I took Hwy 90 back instead of Hwy 61. 90 is longer but faster, 61 if shorter but slower with a lot of stops. About the same amount of time, you just spend it differently. I got a wasp in the truck with me on the way home too. I think it got in when I left the window down a crack overnight. Guess it's too warm to keep that up now. Well, it takes a lot of mosquito spray to kill a wasp, but it can be done. I bought some starter fluid to dispatch them faster next time. Mrs Renee also suggested using the tobacco from a cigarette to draw out the poision if I should get stung. Hope it works, I'm carrying some USA Gold's in my truck now. Got home and I was tired. Slept in Monday, right through my 8:00 art class. Won't kill me.

anytime that isn't accounted for, we were probably playing games or just having fun. No time was wasted, even if I just didn't talk about it.

Personal Update

Tonight I "upgraded" my VCH piercing from the original 14ga 1/2" SS curved BB to a 12ga 7/16" Ti curved BB. The larger guage also uses larger balls on the ends - looks nice.

You're welcome.

Actually, I think they look like a mix between a beaver and an oppossum, but with mutant orange teeth.

Anyway. How's it goin' now that you're back?

I miss my buddies terribly.
I bought my own Split game, and Moroccan Mint tea. I've taken up drinking more coffee in the mornings than I used to and drinking tea at night. I just wish there were people here that I could hang out with, just play games and stuff.

We only have just over 4 more weeks of school (plus finals week) and I'm plotting my summer. I have approximately 13 weeks of "freedom" and I need to work at least 11 weeks full time. I really want to take the other 2 for vacation. I want to spend another week in Louisiana
I also need to find a couple of roommates for next semester. I could just go with the 'luck of the draw' but that is a risk. I'm definately gonna go for Oak Tree apartments so at least I can have a chance at my own private bedroom.

TODAY: I went to my chemistry class, suffered through caf food, then met mom in town. She had to work at the consignment clothes sale (that we do every year) and dad wasn't able to keep Alicia because someone came in from out of state so he had to be in the office all day. Amber was also at work, she got hired at Wal*Mart last week. I took Alicia to Sonic, Wal*Mart and then here. I taught her how to play Split. It wasn't too long till I could take her back to meet mom.
I got an A on my last literature test! Me happy! I only put in minimal effort, but I pay really close attention to what he says in class - and that's the only thing he tests over. I also learned what he wanted in the essays. That helps since that's where most of the grade comes from.

Wati, you're supposed to wear your glasses for a reason

what that reason is . . . . is still up for debate
