Saturday, May 22, 2004 - changing plans:

The original plan was just for Matt to come to my house and we'd "hang" - I wanted to wash my truck, and take some metal to ABC to sell, and just general stuff like that that I haven't had time to do lately. Last night, when I told the family, they flipped out. Mom said the house was too messy, and that I should clean it every weekend; Amber said he was a jerk (for something that happened weeks ago, that I told him to do) and that she didn't want him around; Alicia said he ignored her once so she now hates him (though she loved him last week when he talked to her ) and no one knew exactly what dad was gonna do, etc. I went to the "teenager philosophy/mentality" of "reject my friends = reject me" and I just felt really bad. I played my "depressed" songs and went to bed. I had to get up early to call Matt and tell him we had to change plans. I woke up too early and didn't sleep very well.
I went to his house instead, and I wore my retainers, I ate on the run so I just forgot. When I got there, his parents were getting ready to go to the lake, and Matt was only half dressed :P (ok, he only needed a shirt...) First we were gonna go bowling, but the bowling ally didn't open till noon, so we went to my uncle's house to get my aluminum oil pans, then we took them to ABC. Danny (at ABC) didn't recognize me, untill I said my name was Gillmore. Mat's gonna think I have a different name for everywhere I go! He knows my real name is April A________ but at Wal-Mart I go by Kati, and at ABC I go by April Gillmore!
Then we went to Sonic, as usual - had the usuals & a blue coconut slushie. We were gonna go to see Van Helsing, at 13:55, guess what, it was half over by then. They were only showing it at 13:25 and that time was already passed! *sigh* SO, we went to the bowling ally again, and this time we actually bowled
He finally found something he's better than me at. He used to bowl, I never did. I've only bowled twice before, once in 4th grade and once last January. I got better as I played, but I bowl really funny....whatever works for me I guess.
Then we had to go back to Matt's house to get my truck. His dog is finally getting used to me - it's about time!
Work was pretty normal I guess. I sure was tired after bowling, my arm was tired for a while! And then my blood sugar went down, I didn't eat enough I don't guess, I mean I did, but not often-enough, I had sunflower seeds and DrPepper on break. I eat my sunflower seeds shells and all! After a while, I get tired of chewing them though.

Monday, May 24, 2004 - Denby Point
Went to the lake with Matt. His lake, his place, his truck, his deal, etc. I was the navigator though, his mom wrote directions for us last night, it's really easy to get there. We got there, got out in the boat and went across the lake for pie. He said their pie was ledgendary - and it was then we went fishin for a while. The fish kept eating the crickets, didn't catch anything worthwhile. Went for a quick dip, and do I mean quick! It rained lately, and the water wasn't warm enough to stay long. I actually fell in, so I climbed back up and pushed Matt in too. I wasn't gonna get wet and him not! Not really too much else, at least nothing I will write here. Headed for home, it wasn't hard. No getting lost this time like Petit Jean! Went to Sonic when we got back in town, and then to eat at Matt's house. (His parents are cool) Then as I was leaving Matt's uncle drove up - he ALSO drives a Ford truck, a red 4-door diesel. I mean, their little yard was FULL of em! They have 3 already, and that's plenty, then mine and the big diesel one!

Tuesday, April 25, 2004 - Van Helsing
Had an interesting time trying to get to a notery at the bank. The one at my bank was out for a few hours, and there was construction by the other one - and I didn't know any other way to get there - I got lost and found all in one smooth motion. You couldn't turn right, you had to go straight and I didn't know where 'straight' went! lol but I knew where Chicot Rd ended up, and I "found" the interstate. I can get almost anywhere from the interstate.
Later, I met Matt to finally go see Van Helsing. It was better than I expected, but the final battle scene was disappointing. I guess that's what you get with PG-13 movies (...it WAS PG-13 wasn't it? *shrugs* I dunno, but I thought it was supposed to be) Matt was hungry, so we went to Backyard Burger, I had a buy-one-get-one-free coupon, so that was good. Work was very boring. Except that this one guy gave me his number, his work number, the bad part is that he comes to WM with his wife all the time! I gave it to Matt, and told HIM to call him up and ask him what he thought he was doing and to buzz off. that was kinda freaky but other than that, life was pretty boring tonight.

Holiday Weekend

Wednesday, June 2, 2004 - hmm
Hmm, Mom took Amber to the doctor to get her foot X-rayed coz of her go-cart crash last week. I guess I should be packing for SOAR instead of just thinking about it. It scares me a little (course I don't tell mom that) college does. It's like, my life is moving on and taking me with it, and I just want time to stand still for a few days! I'm like "eeek! slow down for a sec!" inside, but nothing serious. I am confident to some extent and I can't wait to get started, but all this in-between time gets to my nerves. I am 18, I make my own decisions, I sign for myself now, and I don't need mom anymore so I don't reveal my secret fears to her.

Tuesday, June 1, 2004 - The Day After Tomorrow
It's already June!!! I can hardly believe it! College is TOO close, and I have to go to SOAR on Thursday. Matt and I met at the theater and saw "The Day After Tomorrow". It was pretty much like you'd expect - stress between dad & son, teenage romance, heros on all sides, everything works out in the end...you get the idea. Still, not a bad movie.
Went to Sonic and then to work. It was medium busy, everyone ate up all their food over the long weekend! Garry actually put Matt and I on neighboring registers! He just wasn't paying attention, Mrs Robin 'fixed' it later. Really, we work when we're supposed to, there's no real reason not to put us near each other. When he first started there was, but work was new to him then, now he works fine.

Monday, May 31, 2004 - chillin
I did nothing all day, just washed my truck and chilled. My sunburn was still pretty sore, so I just laid around. It's nice, I don't get to relax very often, but it feels weird. I find myself waiting or wanting to do something, even go to work!

Sunday, May 30, 2004 - goin to the lake
I went to church, there was no sunday school for seniors, so I left and headed for the lake. Back on the road again Had to stop at WM and fill-up, and at Sonic to fill-up ME. It's a fairly short trip over there, about 82 miles total, short compared to the 153 miles to Hardy, but it's easy with little navigation required. I surprised myself by remembering a lot of details along the way, many curves & how the roads looked, even places we passed along the way and the grass growing in the turn lane, etc. I called Matt when I was almost there, so he'd know about when to expect me. Finding him was easier than I expected, and parking was even easier than that! I was shocked! 'Twas good to see him again, and his parents, and the dog - they'd gotten her shaved since I saw her last. He wasn't kidding when he said they had a camper but he slept in the tent. I can see why, campers are pretty tiny! I wore jeans because of my sunburn, didn't want to chance getting any more sun. Couldn't ride the wave runner though
Ate pie in the tent while watching some of a movie, then went out on the lake in his flat-bottom fishing boat. We just drove around, untill it started to rain - then we made a race for the shore. I was wearing a white shirt, so getting caught in the rain wouldldn't've been a good thing. Sat around the campsite for a while, raided all the (family's) fridges - they don't drink enough Dr.Pepper - no one had any!! Matt's parents decided to brave the rain again in the party barge, Matt and I turned on Pirates of the Caribbean, his cousin came over & watched too. It wasn't too long till I had to get back on the road, and it started brewing up a storm just for me. I got home safely, in pretty good time too, just chilled.

Saturday, May 29, 2004 - coming home
I got up at about 9:15, and no one else was up. Mr Magee got up before 10:00, and he did make coffee. I had fruit salad, beef jerky and coffee for breakfast. Beef Jerky, Peanut Butter and Gatorade are essentials for me, not to mention life-giving-H20. I slept pretty good, especially after moving to my bed. I packed up and chilled, waiting for everyone else to get up. They didn't get up till noon. Amber and Nancy were the last ones up.
We all went shopping in "downtown" Hardy. It's a big tourist place, I dunno what the locals do - hang at Wal-Mart I guess. There is only one highway though, so semis are rollin through while the tourists are crossing the street & crowding the sidewalks! They're building a by-pass to alleviate that problem.

Friday, May 28, 2004 - canoe trip
I got up at 8:30, Laura was already up - and she stayed up later than me last night! Everyone got up between 9:00 & 9:30 as agreed. We're supposed to leave for the canoe rental place at 10:00ish.
It was only about $20 each to rent canoes - so that was good. Not a whole lot else really. We put in where they told us, I was in the back and Amber was in the front.

We didn't tip not even once! It was quite fun, sometimes a little stressful, but easy because the water was high. I got sunburned, but I'll live(I hope).

Thursday, May 27, 2004 - float trip
I'm scheduled to work today, at 17:00, but I won't be there. The Magees are leaving for Hardy sometime after 14:00 and I will be following them up there. Don't worry about my job, I've talked to David about it until he finally said something like "I've already told you you could have it off, don't bring it up again" so I won't be there. I'm off Sunday & Monday too, because those are my normal days off, and again on Thursday & Friday for a short college trip.
Mr Magee drives crazy! He passes EVERYBODY!!!! His "normal" driving is at least 5 mph over the limit - which looks like 10 on my speedometer! Grrr, keeping up with him is difficult & stressful!! We got there, unloaded, chilled, and finally Mrs Magee cooked this nice chicken & rice dish. It was good, but a little late, maybe just coz we got in late, I dunno. Played games & such, there was 6 other kids there: Amber, Natalie, Nathan, Nancy, Laura, & Erin. They all wanted to stay up forever!! I actually stayed up till 3am with them, but I would've gone to sleep around 23:00 if I could've. They stayed up later, till about 4:30 I think.

SOAR was good. I mean, I'm never gonna be "jumpin-up-and-down" excited about college, it's school for cryin out loud, but I guess I'm ready now. They got me an ID card so I'm officially a student now. I already was accepted & all that, now I'm actually registered for classes that start August 19th!
I met this guy there, he looked familiar - I think he shops at Wal-Mart - named Nick. A bunch of us played "BS" late Thursday night, I made a point to stay up and be social, I went to bed at 1:30ish but didn't sleep till 3:00. Going to bed is the strangest part, there was no one to say goodnight to, it was just strange.

Friday night Matt and I hung out for "wicked friday night" we went to eat. I had grilled salmon and it was awesome! Then we were gonna go look at .22s but they were closed, we were just a little bit late. We were gonna play pool too, but they were also closed. What kind of pool hall is closed on Friday night????? seriously *rollseyes* SO we went to Movie Gallery, we got "A Knight's Tale" and laid up in the recliner. I actually have a whole screen name based on that movie when I saw it with Camilya. I was thinking about Lance back in those days though. The girls in it have beautiful long hair! Matt would be happy if I grew my hair out that long - it's nice to know that.

Saturday, I drove Amber to my grandparent's house to mow the yard, and I was gonna balance my tire. My grandpa wanted to help me, but when he came down the step in the barn it flipped and he fell. He hit his head, but was otherwise ok. He was carrying the tire balancer though, it's only cast aluminum and when it hit the concrete it broke. We just guessed at it. I don't know anyone else who has one of those good tire balancers, the digital ones don't work as good.
I had to work 2-10, so it was a long day. Didn't help that it was non-stop busy too. I had a nice, long lunch, but they forgot my last break. I'm not really complaining - I forgot about it too. I was concentrating on getting off at 22:00 so when it was 21:00 I didn't even think of my break. I got off a few minutes early to 'make up' for it. Oh well. Talked to Britt, coz I had to park by him anyway. His S-10 is only a 4 cylender! jejejeje the bad part is that he didn't even know it. That's bad! I gave Matt his senior ring back. I only asked to wear it to SOAR, I think he wants to wear it and I'm not gonna take it away from him. I have his other ring, I'm leaving him my senior ring when I go to college. I left my watch at home, so I was a little late getting home. I didn't know what time it was! But, on the one day I had an honest excuse - mom didn't even mention my late-ness. figures

SUNDAY, June 6, 2004
I went to Matt's church. I had to leave earlier, so I could be at his house in time to leave to go to church. It's very small! Like, 161 people last Sunday! My church has about 350 and my parent's church has over 2,000. I like the smaller churches much better. Then we went to the hospital to eat with my grandma. She gets to come home on Tuesday or Wednesday! Matt ate with us. Then we went to my grandparen't house. I was gonna sit around and talk with them, but my grandma wanted me to be sure and give Matt the grand tour. We walked around, and got annoyed by Alicia. She thinks she's cute or getting a lot of attention, but really it makes us HATE to be around her. For example (actual conversation):

Alicia: (trying to act "cute" to get laughs/attention)
"EEEEEWWWW! You're holding hands!!"
Me: (annoyed) "Yeah, so?"
Alicia: "Are yall gonna sleep together?"
Me: (discusted) "No."

I couldda killed her right then. She knew she was just asking questions to step on my toes, get people to think she's funny or cute and mostly to get attention.

Matt gave me a ring tonight..."just because" he said. This is odd for me...
I don't know what else to say.

well, went swimming on Thursday at Michael's house (with Matt) didn't wear any rings and really disappointed Camilya when I got to work and didn't have it to show her. If mom has noticed it, she hasn't said anything, which leads me to believe she hasn't noticed it. Granted, I don't always wear rings at home. I'm sure that it won't be "oh how sweet" from her, it'll be more sarcasm.

I wanna go fishing with Matt on Sunday night. We're having pool tour at HC but Matt will still be at work then. I went fishing with him bright and early yesterday. It was fun, but disappointing. No fish worth keeping untill after I had to go home. My mom is freaky-obsessed about me not getting to spend time with him. I don't know why, except that I think she's jealous. Yes, my mom is jelous of my boyfriend! You see something wrong with that? Good. :insert-bugged-eyes-smiley-here: Even my dad was shocked that she made me come home so early! Doesn't that tell you something. Sheesh, outrageous. She's jealous of me spending time with him. She used to be obsessed about me hanging out with other friends too but I was younger then and had no life anyway, so I didn't think much of it. I'm 18 now, moving out in 9 weeks! quit treating me like a kid! Him officially being my boyfreind doesn't help matters either. She's always being sarcastic about him to me.

Yesterday Jason Davis (otherwise known as JD) showed up at WM. He was sure to come visit me, practically stalk me and inform me that he's been reading my website. Grrr I didn't think about that. I'm gonna write something on there, I dunno what, something absolutely the farthest from the truth.....actually, I'm installing some of my old scripts, gonna get his IP and then block him like I did that old Matt guy.

This was a really random post...

I'm at my grandparent's house coz I had to drive Amber over here to mow the lawn. We're having lunch here and I have to go to work at 14:00. If you don't know who Amber is - don't worry about it. i've already been here for like 20 minutes - wow. Only 2 more hours till lunch, and 2 more hours till work. And to think that I gave up lunch with Matt for lunch with my grandma...family first I guess, just wish I didn't have so much free time to kill.
I have an 8 hour shift to look forward to after this, and all next week, but I have camp after that so it's all good. Need to think up something to do this Monday

Last night, I bought myself a catfish rod and went fishing with Matt. He caught a smallish one right off the bat. Later, I caught a "miniature shark" or at least that's how it fought, it was awesome And finally Matt caught another before we left. I came home with the biggest fish!!! I was very pleased with myself, and so was Matt, his parents were impressed too...

Too bad mine weren't. Everyone at my house threw a fit for some reason, either the fish was gross, or I used the wrong ice chest, or now we have the problem of cleaning it. My dad was asleep, but I remembered the big fit he threw about mom buying a Salmon with skin on it - I didn't want him to be mad at me. I weighed it -10lbs- put it on ice and went to bed.
Thismorning while everyone else was at VBS, I took it to Matt's house coz his dad volunteered to clean 'em for us. Then mom came home and was like "where's your fish? I was gonna take your picture with it, and dad was gonna clean it tonight" and I'm shocked! Why the sudden about-face of opinion, last night it was gross and trouble and they didn't want anything to do with it and today it's all great. She also said "I guess you're just a part of their family now" really sarcastic when I told her that I took it to Matt's and that we were gonna eat it on the 4th of July. I REALLY resented that. She's always making unnecessary comments like that! I'm sick of it! I thought she was jelous, but she finally said what was bothering her. It was a STUPID misunderstanding of something I said IN ANSWER to a specific question she asked. (We were talking about going camping for a week of/after the 4th of July, and she was like 'we never go that long because yall will get bored, what are you going to do?' and I answered that their family had more boats & toys (wave runner, etc) so we would have more to do and not get bored as fast) I wasn't speaking of "in general" but she took it that I was, even though she ASKED about a specific time and I answered the question. She's all like "You just want to hang out with him to play with his toys, the reason we don't have such expensive toys is because I stayed home with you and didn't work and now you don't even appriciate it at all" I'm like WHAT? I knew she was jealous of something/somehow... I've never even ridden the wave runner, why would she think I was just hanging out with him to get to play with his stuff? And that's a really AWFUL thing to suggest about my relationship with my boyfriend (of two months tomorrow)....I resented that too. Grrr It was quite a day in my life. Worked 8 hours AFTER all of that^ it was an interesting day there too, but nothing bad.

My mom finally noticed the ring.

She is SO sure that something is happening and I'm just too dumb to see it - when in fact the opposite is true, nothing is happening and I'm not oblivious to anything. She really doesn't know what's up between us and gets carried away in her immagination. I swear, she's like a 13-year-old when it comes to dating relationships!

In other matters, Matt and I were gonna see a movie and "celebrate" 2 months together - but I overslept. I overslept SO bad! My sister woke me up at 7-something and I was just SOOO tired I crawled back into bed and didn't stir untill 11:45! I was like "oh geeezzz!" and grabbed the phone to call Matt. We went to Sonic instead, watched part of a movie at his house and then I went to work at 14:00. I had some coffee after 'lunch' and it was the best thing to happen to me, got me through the rest of the night. I was gonna come home, NOT get online, and clean my room - but here I am. *shrugs*

Awana Camp

Saturday, June 26, 2004 I came back from a week at Awana Camp (with Bobthecockroach, InsaneDrummer, and Joylovesskillet)
It was a very weird but quite fun final year of Awana Camp. Saturday June 18 we got there. It rained at registration time, and they had us take pictures to go on our nametags -which is new and weird- Jason & Daniel and Mr Michael gave me my birthday present that they never mailed. I was in the same cabin that I was last year. Home sweet home. I packed more this year, my guitar for one thing. Sunday was pretty normal, except that it rained. Daniel and I played in the creek almost every afternoon. By Monday things finally seemed to get started - except that it stormed.

I bought myself a new tie ring to wear on my pinkie finger making a total of 10 rings and also new 16ga CBRs for my ears. I promised to guage up to 16 (from 18) after camp, and camp is over SO...
I have the WalMart brand of This in each earlobe.
I also got purple dangle 3-square earrings to modify and wear in my CBRs, I wore them to work and everyone loved them.

my truck is SO awesome! I love it so much

I just had a LOT of fun driving home
I came home leisurely, practicing "powershifting" and other shifting-related tricks...mostly 5 miles under the limit, which I usually drive right ON the limit, hich was all good and fine, no hurry or anything, well then, as I was coming over the overpass, there's a stoplight right before it, it was red but turned green so I had to shift to third, as I was shifting up to 4th, this big-head guy with loud pipes comes up beside me going fast. OK, I immagine that he wants in front of me (it's two lanes, but the right lane ends soon) but I already had it revved up so I hit 5th - I beat him UP the hill and he had to get in behind me
I hope he learns not to challenge trucks, loud pipes do NOT equal power
I have the quietest v6 I've ever heard, but don't let it fool you
Usually I mosey along at the limit, and some people think that's too slow, there is technically not a speed limit up this hill, but 45 is about right, since at the top of the hill the limit goes to 35 - slow old me was doin about 60 up that hill!
It was so much fun.
I've been 'speedshifting' for months, learned to keep up with/pass automatics from red light starts. Lately I've been tryin 'powershifting' but I find it easier/better to shift without using the clutch at all. Probably is harder on my tranny....but I learned on it, and I hafta teach my sis to drive a stick anyway so it can't be in THAT good of shape to start with. Actually, I can shift rather smoothly, even without the clutch so it couldn't be hurting too badly
