| Chick Tracts Ok, I go to a baptist church, and have been going for a long time. I walk into the sanctuary this morning and I find a HUGE rack FULL of these tracts. I know they are notorious for screwy theology and things... I'm wondering if I should bring some of them to the attention of my pastor and try to get them removed. Or is it really that serious? |

| Chick tracts have heretical theology by anyone's standards.
But then I'm biased, because he thinks that the Pope is the antichrist and the Catholic church is the whore of babylon
he's also notorious for not doing his research with regards to taking texts blatantly out of context and such, as well as not making any effort to understand what it is truly that other denominations believe. He takes a totally stereotypical attitude towards those he disagrees with.

| They promote radical dispensational theology, emotionalist Christianity, hatred for and terrible lies about the Catholic Church, and lies about many other things. I would get rid of them.

| Make a fuss about them, but do your homework first .
Don't just go in with arms swinging and gripe b/c of the bad theology, actually take some of them, do some study/preparation, and sit down with your pastor and show him what's wrong. It's possible the pastor just took someone's word for how "good" they were and put them out for people to take and never really looked at them himself. |

| Ok...I read Jack's Chick's website ( www.chick.com)...the guy's a moron, definetly talk to you pastor about getting that trash thrown away.
Here's some of his anti-anything other than KJV garbage for our own personal amusement :
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. (KJV)
-VS-
who are being saved [This teaches the Roman Catholic lie that salvation is a process.] (NASB)
This is humorous - please tell me how these are NOT the same things? Hahaha, one's in past tense (KJV) and the other's in present tense (NASB), what the difference?
Here's another one I got a laugh out of:
Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie (KJV)
-VS-
who exchanged the truth of God for the lie (NASB)
And again, there's just so much difference between these |

| It's worthy of noting that salvation is a process in some aspect. This isn't a Roman Catholic doctrine. Justification, however, is not a process as the Papists (I believe) teach.

| My favorite Chick Tract is "Love the Jews."

When Christ enters your life, you've saved.

Has anyone noticed that Chick quoted himself as substantiation in one of his tracts? |
