Los Cucarachas de Amor

****07-28-07****

If you found yourself here after clicking a link, then you can read this in its GLORIOUS entirety. Be warned...this thing is pretty stinking long, so you better have some time on your hands...or you can just skip to the last page for the most recent posts. Either way...enjoy yourself.

I have been listening to Petra's new CD non-stop for the last five days. Yeah, I know that Petra aren't cool anymore, in fact, I don't know that they have ever been THAT cool, but this album is awesome. It's called "Jekyll & Hyde" and if you like hard rocking guitars, this is one you need to pick up.
I was trying to decide exactly what to put up here and I haven't really come up with anything concrete yet. For now it'll just be whatever happens to be going through my twisted little mind at the time.

Here's a link to some of my original songs for those who are interested.

Oldmangrady

Bradbury

Lee's Acoustic Gems

The REAL CGR Idol

The Leboman

Thumbs up Truth, Soul, Rock & Roll

8-23-03 10:20 PM EST

This is quite possibly the best album of the year and definitely the best Christian rock band EVER. The Elms make music for people who love music. I didn't think they could top "The Big Surprise"....boy was I wrong. Who would've ever thought that people would be making real rock and roll again, man it feels great to be alive when there are bands like this in the world. Thank You Lord for The Elms.

Happy Monday

August 25, 2003- 7:28 AM EST

You know, getting up early in the morning just isn't my cup of tea. I'm used to working night shift and now I'm on days...my body is having a hard time adjusting. Hey, at least I'm home at night with my family now, right?
Our praise band is playing for a city-wide event this Friday night and I'm really stoked about it. The city is expecting 1000-2000 people there so we'll have a chance to share the Gospel with quite a few people...that's so cool.
We'll, I gotta get my boys up and off to school. More later....

Lightbulb Super Cucarachas De Amor

August 25, 2003- 8:13 AM EST

You know, I realized that Los is the incorrect article for the word Cucarachas, seeing as how Los is masculine and Cucarachas is feminine. Hey, I don't speak, read or write Espanol. I also have no idea if Amor is even a word...it just looked cool next to the Los Cucarachas part. I'm seriously considering changing the name of this thing, but until I do, all grammatical mistakes, in English or Espanol, will simply have to be forgiven.

I must admit, I'm not up to date on all of this internet community stuff. When I first started creeping around online ten years ago on AOL and Prodigy, there weren't all these nifty little things, like BLOGS. In fact, there only seemed to be about seventeen of us patient enough to sit through dial up on a 2800 bpm connection. Talk about God granting you patience. Now you guys and gals have your own lingo and slang and I'm afraid that I'll just never catch on and become hip enough to be a part of your little world wide family. Please bear with me as I learn about your world, I'm just an old geezer who desperately wants to belong....

I've actually been reading a couple of these things here, just trying to get an idea as to what is expected of me. I'm gonna steal this little survey from a guy named Mike, who stole it from someone else, who probably stole it as well. So without further ado, here goes nothing.

Monday Morning CDs

August 25, 2003- 11:00 AM EST

Just sitting here trying to get up the will power to paint this room. Laziness and Monday mornings seem to go hand in hand don't they?
I was pondering what music to pay whilst I paint. So far I'm stuck choosing between Fleming & John and The Elms. I also considered going retro and throw some Stryper in.
I realize that my coolness level just dropped off the charts but I'm all about being honest on this thing, in fact, I'm so honest I'll put a Stryper picture up here just to show my undying support for them.
That'll teach all of you young folks about REAL music...

Thumbs up Vanilla Pepsi

August 25, 2003- 3:49 PM EST

I still don't know if I'm approaching this thing the right way. I feel like I should post something in here whenever I feel like I have something to say. I also feel that it should be somewhat informative and entertaining at the same time.
The truth is, I don't know if I'm that interesting or not. After snooping around a little bit I've come to the conclusion that I may be too darn old to relate to most of the people I've come across.
What do I know about being a student in Australia?
What do I know about being a thirteen year old girl in Wisconsin?
Absolutely nothing....
BUT, and here's the cool part about all of this, when we come to Christ, we all become equals. We all have a common goal. We all have a common denominator. Through Christ, we are all in the same BLOG.
What an awesome concept.
Oh yeah, the Vanilla Pepsi subject heading? I really didn't know what to put there and I was drinking Vanilla Pepsi....so there.

"The Cockroach of Love" is one of the coolest names for a blog I've seen in a long time.

Talking cockroaches

August 25, 2003- 4:36 PM EST

I really wanted cockroaches in my blog because I had a dream where this supersized insect- I guess you could call it McRoach- was chasing me. It started crawling up the wall behind my computer and before I knew it, was chasing me through a Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 scenerio I had created. If I had known the Spanish word for roller coaster, or could've even gotten close to it, this blog would've been called the Cockroach's Roller Coaster Of Love. Oh well, it worked out fine I guess.
Anyways, thanks to those of you who have so graciously posted thus far (all two of you), I am trying to return the favor as I get the chance.

Talking

August 26, 2003- 5:23 PM EST

Well, I just got in from the beach. Robin and I got up, took the boys to school and the sitter, and drove to the coast for the day. There's something about sitting there watching the waves roll in that reminds you just how awesome God really is. What a great day.
I really don't have a whole lot to say today, been caught up in the fun of not doing anything.
Our praise team gets to play out this Friday night, that should be lots of fun. They're expecting anywhere from 1000-2000 people there. Awesome, I can't wait.
Well, I have to go pick the boys up and cook some dinner. I think we're gonna grill some summer sausages.
Yummy....

Just finished practice for the show Friday night. I'm exhausted and have to get up to go to work at 5AM, whoopie.
I've got to go to sleep, maybe I can write a whole bunch tomorrow, we'll see....

If I were you, I'd be to nervous to sleep. But that's probably because I have stage-fright.

Get plenty of sleep!
You want to be rested up for your big show.

Have cold-shower, caffiene free (I can't believe I just said that) day!

Good moring from North Carolina. Sitting here enjoying a nice bowl of Fruity Pebbles and then it's off to work. There's nothing quite as thrilling at this hour than the thought of twelve hours of making generic Tylenol. To those who don't know already, I work at a pharmecuetical factory. We make generic versions of Tylenol and Alleve for stores like Wal-Mart.
It's not a very fun job, but it pays the bills, right?
Let me get going, I'm sure I have another fun-filled day ahead of me.
