Well, today is my wife's 32 birthday. It's also the fourteenth anniversary of when we started dating one another. It's amazing how fast time flies isn't it?
You wake up one day and realize you're not sixteen anymore. Then you wake up one day and realize you're not eighteen anymore. Low and behold, you wake up one day and realize that you're not twenty anymore. Then you wake up one day and you realize you're not even thirty. And finally, you wake up dead and you're in heaven, so this getting old thing does have its rewards, eh?
Let me run, The Munsters are on tv and I haven't watched them in ages.

I just realized that I'm almost at 100 posts. I need to make that one special, so I'm gonna think on it as I watch Herman and Lily and Grand Pa.

Don't try to scare me, man. I'm still sixteen!
Have a good day!

ONE HUNDREDTH POST !!!!

September 3, 2003- 12:55 PM EST

Today is the day that we all should decide to become the ministers God wants us to be. So many times we ask for Him to use us in the ways that we want. We need to ask Him to put us in the places that HE desires. I know that I have spent so much of my life wandering aimlessly from place to place, wasting and abusing the talents and time that God has so graciously given me. I don't want to live one more minute without serving Him.
Oh Lord You are so awesome and I am so unworthy. Use me Oh God to do Your work here on Earth. Place in me a heart for the lost and let Your love for them consume me. Be my words, my thoughts, my actions; my all. Glorify You through me, in Christ's name I pray.

I've decided to skip the little date/time thing I've been doing. For starters, it's a pain typing it everytime. Secondly, the date and time are posted right there next to my stupid picture so it's also redundant....duh.

I've had a pretty good day. I actually made my wife something for her birthday. I went out and bought this pretty little picture frame and then I typed up the words to "More Than You'll Ever Know" by Watermark and put it in the frame. It looked really nice, but more importantly, it was from the heart.
I wrote an abbreviated version of my testimony and posted it in that folder. Here is the link to it if you want to read it.

my testimony

I may come back in here and go into much greater detail, but I didn't think that the testimony forum was the appropriate place for some of the things I might have to touch upon, know what I mean?
I've spent most of the day working on some of my writing. I do plan to finish this stupid book one day, if the Lord lets me live long enough.
Let me run, I've got to pick up the boys.

Oh yeah, one thing before I go. If any of you have actually gone to my web site and wondered what in the world it was, well, that's going to be the home for what I envision as an "E-church". I will let people, other than myself, contribute and be a part of it as well. It's kinda like this, but a little more formal. If you might be interested, e-mail me or post in here and let me know.

I have a massive sinus headache and I'm freezing in here. For some reason I left the air conditioner set on 60 degrees and when I woke up this morning I felt like a popsicle.
On top of that, Chris, my two year old, decided that he was going to crawl in bed with us last night, so I felt like I was going to roll off of the bed all night long. Needless to say, I'm not feeling very spiffy right now.
As soon as I take Geoffry to school and Chris to the sitter, I'm gonna come back home and lay down for a bit. Hopefully I can get rid of this headache and get some work done around the house. I've got to work this weekend so I need to do whatever I can today, or else it'll be Monday before I can get to it.
Watched an interesting movie last night. It was called "Identity" and starred John Cusack and Ray Liotta. (Is that how you spell his name?)
It had quite a bit of profanity in it, so that was a negative, but other than that, it wasn't bad. Weird, but not bad. If I go into too many details I'll give away the ending, so I wont say anything except that it's not your typical murder mystery. I thought I had the whole thing figured out until the very end, lots of twists and turns in there if you like that kind of thing. It's the first movie I've watched in a long time that kept me guessing (or caring) what was going to happen, that says a whole lot. I did enjoy watching "The Two Towers", but I already knew how that was gonna end up because I've read the books.
This one is starting to get long but I don't know how much I'll be able to write later. I guess I'm trying to cram as much in here as I can.
I've been wanting to get another guitar but 1) I don't really have the money right now, and 2) I really don't know what kind I want. I read a lot of these journals/blogs and try to get ideas from other people. It seems that Stratocasters are fairly popular, but for some reason I've never really liked them that much. I had an Epiphone Les Paul Custom and it was a pretty good guitar but not very versatile. I'm really leaning towards a Telecaster but I want an American one and I don't have that kind of money right now. My other thought was an Explorer. Yeah, I know, they aren't very versatile either, but I love the way they look. I always have. I did play an SG and thought that it was nice. The only odd thing about it was that the neck feels so small, but that had its advantages. My problem is that when I finally do have the 700-800 dollars it's gonna take to buy another guitar, I don't want to buy something that I'm gonna want to get rid of in a couple of months. I have one friend who is never satisfied with his guitars. He's gone through Les Pauls, Teles, Strats, Reverends, and now he's playing SGs. He'll jump to something else next week probably. I do like Rickenbackers a whole lot, but if you've ever taken the time to price one you'll see why I don't have one yet. They start around 1000 dollars and that's just out of my league right now. Kinda like that 3000 dollar Taylor I want so much. Oh well, I can keep dreaming.
It is time to take the boys, let me go. Maybe I'll be back later, we'll have to see.
Peace out.

I'm gonna put this picture of the David Crowder band up here because:
1) They are awesome
2) His hair is the coolest thing I've ever seen

I've got a ton of pictures that I want to put up here, so I'm going through them trying to decide which ones might be interesting.
Most of them are musical in nature because that is a really big part of my life. I'm trying to get some pictures of my family scanned so I can put them up here for all of you to see.
But for now, I'll leave you with Dave Crowder, the coolest hair on the planet....

I got a Fender Strat Squire for $150. The guy at the guitar store said it's really versatile.

You don't have to spend that much if you know where to shop. Be sure to get plenty of rest.
Have a great day!

umm about guitars.
if u want to play more blues, then i would recommend stratocaster. rock go for les paul (gibson is much much better than epiphone so u might want to try that out.)

anyway i would buy a tele unless u really really like it because ive heard there not to great guitars.

i would recommend this parker thing that came around a coupla years ago. it could like replicate any guitar. u could look into that

I played in a band with a guy who had a Parker Fly. It was an interesting guitar. It was made out of graphite I believe, and weighed only two or three pounds. It had a Piezo pick-up in the bridge for really clean, nearly acoustic, sounds. It was a funky-looking thing though. He really liked it.
The youth minister at church bought a Tex-Mex Telecaster and put new pick-ups in it and it absolutely rocks. It gets a much meatier tone than I ever thought was possible out of a Tele. I always assumed that they were twangy country sounding guitars. He pointed out that not only did Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton play them from time to time, but that Jimmy Page used Teles on quite a bit of Led Zeppelin's stuff. I know his sure does sound nice, and quite honestly, it feels so much better than a Strat to me. I have learned that every guitarist has his or her preference and that no two agree. I do think that Gibson's have a much heavier and thicker tone and that lends itself to rock music. I do know that a lot of blues guys prefer Strats. I'm still undecided. Like I said, something about Explorers has always grabbed me, even the Hamer ones. I guess it's because Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick plays one.
Oh well, I guess that I've rambled on long enough about guitars, eh?
Just as a side note, my two favorite guitarists play Peavey and P.R.S.

Lightbulb Another photo

This here is the best rock and roll band on the planet in my opinion.
Of course, that is up for debate and I will be happy to do that with you too. If you agree, disagree, or just feel like fighting with me over it....go right ahead, I'm ready.

Yeah, I changed my avatar again. I'm still searching for something that screams, "Me!"
I used to look like this dude too, and once again, I had that t-shirt as well. I don't think that one survived though, Ozzy never was my thing, although I really liked his "Ultimate Sin" album.
I'm open to any suggestions on the avatar. If you see something that I do that is cool, let me know. If it sucks, ditto. I have pretty thick skin, so I can take it.

I just found this picture of my "dream" guitar, although I would probably get one with the Korina finish.
