I could no disagree. For one, your two examples have got to be the worst two, since in 5 card stud you see a larger portion of everyone else's hand (4/5 as compared to 5/7) and you see as much as every else's hands as they do in no peaky, which is really a pointless betting game.

Also, I don't know how much you have played, but the betting has got to be the hardest part, as Hold 'Em is typically played no limit, so the betting dynamics can carry 10x more information than in a limit game, when your bet is already decided for you.
This is definitely true. Hold 'Em and High-Low are the two games I have the most trouble with (especially High-Low when you have your low-card down as your wild card).

I was usually bluffing when I'd put myself in that situation, only to find out that the last card gave me an awesome hand, haha. It's such a nice feeling.

Okay, that is true, but bluffing is dangerous when you play with a lot of people (maybe 5 or 6) since someone is bound to have a good hand. If you are playing with nickels and dimes, they will most likely stay in no matter how much you bluff.

Virtually any poker game can be played Hi-low, which are you referencing?

That is the danger inherent in bluffing. However, if it is bet around to you, your pot odds are teh best in a large game.

Hey! I've played nickel/dime games and went in upwards of $12 on a hand.

One way or another, if you play differently for small amounts, you are being quite unwise.

hmm i must be confused or weird, i find hold em to be one of the easiest versions of poker to play, fixed bets just seem to make the game harder to me...but hey maybe i'm just weird

It is indeed one of the easiest to play, I did not deny that, you claimed that it was "by far one of the easier versions of poker to master." Basketball is easy to play, as well, but mastery of it is not easy...

oh ok now i get what your saying
i should have added a big IMO to my first post, for me hold em is the version i'm best at, for whatever reason, from that i just assumed that meant it was an easy version to master, maybe its just one of those things that it fits best iwth how my brain works or something, anyway i like it

There is a quite steep learning curve, do you play with a large variety of people?

Sorry. 5 card and 7 card stud.

The point is that its only a few bucks, so who cares? People are going to stay in more and have fun wasting their nickels and dimes. I usually play more to win, but I still chase people a lot for fun. A gain, we are talking losing a couple of dollars if you do really bad.

This is seriosuly the greatest game ever. I was just at a no limit table, lost 600, then went all in and won 2400 with an Ace high straight. Few things compare to the rush that you get whilst betting all your money on a draw, landing the draw, and watching everyone else pile the money in the side pot. What's better than this?

Jake, I rebuke thee! I love Hold-Em, and play a lot, as you know, but there is a lot to be said for other variations. I saw WSOP 7-stud on the other day, and was quite glad.
