power conditioners

What are some good, cheap power conditioners with surge protection, etc.? All I have is one rack space availible, but I need one for my preamp and power amp. Thanks.

Check out some of the models at Furman Sound I've always used Furman gear for power conditioning. That's for my rack-elements in the PA system, but I've seen many guitarists with single-space Furman gear too.

I use the Furman PL-8 and haven't had a problem at all with it. It went for $129 when I bought it, but I got it at Guitar Center for $89.99 because I was looking at the cheaper RP-8L and all they had of it were floor models...so they gave it to me for the RP-8L price. I think the RP-8L has been discontinued from the looks of their site, but they still have some on Musician's Friend for the now-cheaper price of $69.99.

Yeah, I posted this in the Harmony Central Monster Rack forum, but I was more specific in what I wanted. Basically, all I want is to protect my gear. I dont really need all the bells and whistles that make them more expensive, for example, lights. If getting lights is gonna make it more expensive, then I can definitly live without them and get it cheaper. At the most, I wouldnt mind having a volt meter or something of the like so I can be sure that an outlet I'm using is safe before I turn on my stuff, but thats not really necessary either. All I need is to protect my gear. With that being said, I've had the PL-8 recommended a couple times, but would rather get something cheaper because that has lights that arent necessary. Are there any conditioners out there with comparable protection but no lights? I was also considering the RP-8, which is the same as RP-8L you were looking for, Brent, but no lights. Those go for around $40-50 bucks at MF. I will be going to Guitar Center on Friday, so I'm trying to get as many recommendations as possible before then. My price range is $30-$70, but I may go a little higher. I also am willing to go used. And I'll accept suggestions other than Furman too. I know those seem to be the most popular. Thanks.

The only difference in the ones without volt meters is that some have lights and some don't....and some have plastic outlets in the back while some have ceramic. Ceramic is more money and so are lights. Ceramic is generally more durable.
