| First Recording Bassjared and I had a go at recording something today so i decided to post it to get some feedback. Tell me what you guys think. It consist of me doing lead on an acoustic through a crappy pc mic but w/e, a midi drum and rhythm guitar track and Bassjared's bass line. Its in A Mixolydian and hints at jazz i think so yah tell me what you think. (oh BTW if the download doesn't work, try right-clicking the link/attachment and then clicking on "save target as". ) |

| Not bad. The only thing that I really don't like is the fact that it's real instruments combined with cruddy Midi stuff. You can't do cool lead chops with a midi that keeps perfect time, so, that's why I think that the lead sounded a tad choppy.
Otherwise, it's pretty good. |

| Same here. Pretty cool stuff.. I didn't love the midi track, but the drums worked fine. I think the bass is enough to improvise upon, so next time try it without the background track.

| K thanx, i'll do it w/out the midi next time. At the time i didn't have a decent program to get it all to work so now that i made it there are some sync problems in some areas but yah. The drums are midi but they're pretty soft and background so i think they dont matter as much as the rhythm midi so yah, thanx for input |

| I know exactly how you feel about the sync problems.. on the songs that I've overdubbed, I've had to work forever to get the timing just right.

| Thats why i've found it easiest right now to start with a midi drum beat and then to play or get midi to play a rhythm and then to record a lead part, but yah. |

| Ah, I see. For example, here's something I recorded and had to overdub the lead and rhythm parts by trimming up hundreths of a second (literally) off the wav file.
