| man...all this hostility makes me nervous... what happened to the charity?! the happiness?! the love?! right now, you guys kinda remind me of the politicians, who smile politely and shake eachothers hands for the cameras, but mutter through their forced smiles "rot in hell...". if youre gonna take stabs at eachother, go straight at it... no more of this indirect criticism stuff. im not saying i encourage the arguing, in fact, i hate it. youre kinda killing the whole...spirit...of the blog. so please, please...reconcile? |

| well...i haven't really been here in a while. maybe 'a while' isn't even the right word? anywho...all i know is that i am definately not addicted to posting here anymore...even going on the site. which means that i was successful during lent. two points for me...maybe even more, because i could use some points now.
life is simply amazing. retreat really did a lot of good for me...and the week's only been awesome since. school's been great (or as great as it can be), and thus, i am happy. now all i have to do is harness this joy and put it to good work...then i'm set. |

| My family's catholic friends, funnily, have two little boys in consecutive age with the names of John Paul and Benedict.

but i am really excited about the pope. although, there is one thing that i think we have to remember. he is the pope, not the president. he's not there to appease the public, he's there to be the vicar of Christ, be His messenger, helping His church. not a political figure, but a relgious leader. so i'm a bit discouraged when everyone's talking about how conservative or whatever he is...this is about God's will, not what we want. don't get me wrong, i definately fall on the right side of the fence, but i don't like labeling popes all willy-nilly like that. the holy spirit can work through anyone, so that what He wants might be done...just look at how He's transformed our lives for the better! how awesome!
but i baked 'pope cookies' and brought them to school...which was awesome. the kids must've thought i was insane...but i couldn't contain my joy! i also ran out to the grocery store about 10 minutes before the carpool came and bought about $10 in m&m's...and i handed those out to people after all 68 cookies were gone. it was, in my opinion, a great way to spread the love, the joy, the happiness that i had...a lot of great convos were started and i can't wait to see what benedict will be doing in the future! |

| It's interesting for this particular mennonite to be watching the catholic side of the world. I also don't see the pope as there to aide the public perception of Christianity in general. I mean, aren't we supposed to be persecuted?
