| all these questions...and so i leave you to this. all of the answers can be found in there. although tis shakespearean in its nature, you can figure it out. or at least some of you should be able to...it tackles several issues, including how i feel. and then there are some other little quips thrown in there, so that you might laugh. please read the entire thing. i know that a lot of you will read a couple lines, and then post something. but i ask, read the ENTIRE THING. you'll get way more out of it. plus, the 'good schtuff's' at the end.
to dread, or not to dread--that is the question:
whether 'tis nobler in the mind to believe
the words and actions of the honest lizwrenne
or to take arms against these exhortations
and by opposing make them lies. to dread, to sleep--
no more--and by a sleep to say we end
the heartache, and the thousand natural shocks
that comes from not believing. 'tis your consummation
devoutly to be wished. to dread, to sleep--
to sleep--perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub,
for in that sleep of believing what dreams may come
when we have believed that liz has dreads,
must give us peace. there's the respect
that is due to liz and gives you so long a live.
for who would subject you to the whips and scorns of lies,
th' oppressor's fib, the proud man's exploitation
the pangs of her despised love, the law's unequality,
the insolence of her office, and the spurns
that she undergoes yet tells them to you all,
when she herself might her quietus make
with a roll of tape? why would liz the fardles bear,
of living a life no more than lies,
but that the dread of the afterlife,
the discovered truths, from whose bourn
no traveller returns, will puzzle your will,
and makes you challenge yourself to believe
those people in real life you know not of?
thus conscience does make cowards of us all,
and thus people will only see you in one light
it makes one sick that they can not get past that thought,
and will not get to know you better in any other moment
with having known only one part of you
and lose the name of friendship. |
