Go and check out this site and click on the mp3 thing at the top of the page. You can then D/L any of the songs there to listen. More than likely he does it somewhere in each song. I haven't listened to all of them, but I did listen to You Said the other day and he does it a few times in that song. It's pretty neat sounding.

my worship leader just put out a cd and shane barnard played with him on it. one of the songs they did was "it is well" and it was pretty much just Shane playing the guitar and singing with Pat. it comes with chords and they are pretty simple, i've been playing for almost two years and there is NO WAY i can even come close to making it sound like he does. so that is called a triple strum? i thought it was the coolest thing when i first heard it

but is this what y'all are talking about? here's a verse from "it is well" listen to where he sings "and the Lord shall descend" is that it?

Is a triple strum just where you strum down-up-down real quick? If so, its easy once you get real comfortable with your guitar and strumming....at least it was for me. Once I got comfortable with strumming to the point where I can do whatever strum pattern I want without even thinking about it, I heard a triple strum once and, well, just did it. It was easy. The only hard part is being able to keep rhythm with the rest of the song.

just gotta be anal

actually, what he does is faster than triple,it's called quad strumming,or 16th note strum.it takes practice, but its not that hard.for me the hardest part was isolation or containment,i could strum really fast.but needed to contain teh strum to just a few strings,or when strummign all 6,on up and down strokes, make the pick barely go past the strings,to save fractions of seconds.and also.work out,the stronger you are the faster you can strum, and the longer you can hold it,i cna only hold a quad strum for 8 seconds, then i have to go back to regular or double time, for a second or two.so basically strength+control+practice will get you there

I can triple but I only do when playing shane's songs. The quad is a different story. My question is how does he get so much bass out of his aucustic guitar? I saw him live, and let me tell you, he sounds like an entire band when he plays by himself. It was crazy.
