Like the story about the lost son, sometimes God may give us what we don't need because it's the only way we'll learn a lesson, or somehting of the same nature. Yes God has told us if we ask we'll recieve. But He was referring to the good things. Sometimes we think something is good and right and think we ask with the right notives, but in all reality we don't and are so far from the mark. We need to stay within His will, though I believe He does give us a good bit of freedom through His Son. But we need to be careful. There's an old sayiing that goes, be careful what you ask for, cause you just might get it. I remmeber ltelling God how bored I was and had nothing to do, next thing I know I'm up to my eyeballs in the days activities. Just take everything one step at a time. Pray for what you will, but ask that it not be given to you if it's not with the Father's perfect will for you life....

i don't know why i've never thought of that verse like that before Bill, but i like that. actually, i think that interpretation might actually line up with the rest of scripture better than the other interpretation. nice.
