The hyper-Auburn perspective presented is one of the reasons I stopped going to razormouth.

"Enable you to get that rigid edge to boldly and tenaciously deny (despite the Scriptures, the Westminster Divines, and good pastor conferences) that works have anything to do with justification"

What is "hyper-Auburn"?

The movement in the PCA based around the Auburn Avenue pastors' conferences. Doug Wilson, Steve Wilkins, et al are leading it. The book Reformed is Not Enough lays out a lot of their thoughts.

I was unaware that AA supporters formally mixed faith and works regarding justification, so I'll call this a hyper-Auburn perspective. I know that they have a lot of weird faith/works mixtures, but the stuff on justification written by Doug Wilson seems to affirm Sola Fide.

I think Doug Wilson has his head screwed on straighter than a lot of his followers. Similar to N.T. Wright and New Perspective "scholars".

Okay, yeah, I understand now.

And yes, if people are mixing works with faith on justification, then they are not accurately showing Wilson's views. The book simply claims that without works you will get kicked out of the covenant (as is repeated time and time again in the Bible). Also, works are related to justification in that all those who are justified will show it through their works. However, Wilson never argues that we are saved by merit in any form in Reformed Is Not Enough. His emphasis is certainly on works and their relationship to the covenant, but he never denies any reformed principles (in fact, he is claiming that many have gone away from them).
