The Bird

One day while I was watching T.V. in my living room I heard a thumping noise over and over. I looked out the window and saw a bird hitting the window over and over. I guess it thought it
could get in. But each time it would hit the window it would fly back around and try it again over and over, never succeeding.

Sometimes we can be like the dumb bird, sinning and sinning over and over, relizing or not relizing that it's wrong but we keep doing it. The bible teaches us to do whatever you can to stop sinnging:
Matthew 5:29 - If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.

I challange all of you who read this to hult the sin in your life, do whatever you can to get rid of it, pray, share, cry, sing, talk, walk, read, or whatever. Don't let hell take you over, throw away your wickedness and start over!

Matthew 13:41 - The Son of man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all evildoers.

I find that we are more likely to be the bird when we try to quit sinning. We try and try over and over again to do something that we are completely unable to do.
Only God can remove the desire to sin. The only way to achieve victory over sin is to remove our focus from the things of this world. The only way to do that, is to constantly have our focus set on God. The only way to do that is to keep the Name of Jesus constantly at the front of our minds. Easier said than done, unfortunately.
If our focus is on our sin, then our focus is on us. We need to worry less about what we are doing, and more on what Christ is doing in our lives. "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind"Rom. 12:2. If our focus in our mind is on Jesus, He can, and will, transform us.

Thanks

Yo man I really like that devotion it made me think about the sins I do and how that we are all like that bird. But then again it is hard not 2 be like the bird man.But no matter what man. I still Find myself losing battles but when I so lose I know.No matter how bad it gets.I can still call on Jesus and he'll be there for me man.No matter what i do no matter how many times i run into that window .He always puts me on the right track. He is leading me Home to heaven and I can't wait to get to heaven.

Thanks for that Devotion

trying to quit sinning is much like running into a brick wall or flying into a window over and over again...thanks for that visual.

I thank God that we have friends and supporters that help keep us accountable and yet remain compassionate when we slip and fall.

Bless you.
