| I can't even tell you. I never cook stuff. I usually heat it up in the micro, or reheat it, or eat food that has been cooked for me. |

| The last thing I made was lemon meringue pie last night. Unless you count my as-yet-unfinished pie crust that is sitting in its pan waiting to be filled with butterscotch custard and whipped cream. Yum. |

| Hey guyforGod - here's an idee for lunch:
Get a good pork chop out. Now, get some fresh thyme or rosemary (about a small handful will do for about three chops), a garlic clove (per chop), some olive oil, and some salt. If you've got a mortar and pestle, pound it all together till you've got a nice, garlicy, herby slush. If not, try putting it in a ziplock bag and pounding it with a rolling pin or heavy pan. Now, rub it onto the chops and let them sit for an hour in the fridge.
If you've got a grill pan (the kind of pan with ridges on it), then get it nice and hot, otherwise, heat up a regular pan over medium heat and put some olive oil in it. Cook your chops until they're done. If you've used a regular pan (this won't work with a hot grill pan), then once you remove the chops (squeeze some lemon juice over them when you do), throw a little chicken broth into the pan (a quarter cup or so), and stir with a wooden spoon to dissolve the browned bits on the bottom. If you want, add a small spoonful of dijon mustard too. After a minute, turn the heat off and stir in a good pat of butter intil it's melted and pour it over your chops.
This goes great with boiled, mashed potatoes or sauteed fresh green beans or glazed carrots.
And Sorefingers - you stole my avatar's quote! And may I say that I pronounce it correctly. Still, I wish I had the picture you have. Maybe I'll get one of Inigo (or however you spell it) and quote "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die", or I'll get Fezzik, and quote "I only dog paddle" or "Anybody want a peanut?" |
