A Silver Mount Zion: Not A GYBE "Side Project"

If anything deserves to be called the " Side Project" its GY!BE. Well, maybe that's a little overboard. I got the debut album of A Silver Mount Zion yesterday, He Has Left Us Alone But Shafts of Light Sometimes Grace The Corners of Our Rooms. I won't waste time describing the actual nature of A Silver Mount Zion, as it is all over the web. It is interesting to note, however, that all those mp3s titled GYBE: Silver Mount Zion are actually the first track of this album. It's also the least spectacular of all the tracks on it. Sort of a sleepy opener- fitting to the theme, but not somethign that you will repeatedly listen to. The rest of the album blows anything I have heard from gybe straight out of the water. It is amazing that this album isn't more popular. No Mp3s online. I have the only copy in my town. Let me say, I feel truly blessed. The melancholy beauty of this album rivals many of the "standards" that we art-rock pretentious know-nothings hold as canonical. Beware, this could shake your whole worldview

I'll definitely be looking for this. I saw this band name on a list of artists in a fold-out in the Yanqui U.X.O. album.
