| Well, because everyone know's we're the Church that Christ Established, and that everyone acknowledges the Popes authority as Bishop of Rome and Vicar of Christ, right?

| being an altar girl on 7:30 mass, and being at the doughnut shop at 8:45 is what growing up Catholic is all about

| That is arguable. I would not say that being an "altar girl" is what Catholicism is about. I highly disagree with their allowance. Thankfully, I live in one of the two diocese in the country that does not permit them.

my point was
1) if I wasn't an altar girl there's no way I'd be up for 7:30 mass
2) But it was a good thing overall because it allowed us to be first at the doughnut store.
Read over this thread...I think you'll find the tone is not serious at all, and I hope you realize that I was completely kidding around.
But if you want to start a thread about altar girls/boys feel free!!

| So little respect for the Vicar of Christ...
no sticking tongues out here. Not when we're talkin' about him.

| I like the word, "Vicar" As A catholic, I must note a few things:
1) The Pope wouldn't eat at a buffet (he looks like more of a potluck kind of guy :klol: )
2) In my church we don't refer to the alter servers as "alter girls" or "alter boys"... that way anyone can help with the mass! :ksmile:
3) I find that getting up early is the only reason why we are in the lines before everyone else... (we have 5:30pm mass on Saturdays too)
4)No this thread isn't too terribly serious. If Jesus were replying here, he would say that we should not worry about what we are to eat (etc) :kwink:
