Are You Ready? (RC)

I had the "Are You Ready?" idea for a long time, but it took me close to a year to develop it into a song. What I got is something that I hope to use for the opening song for my cd and concerts:

Are You Ready?
by Rick Morgan

Verse 1:
Are you ready For the Kingdom to come?
Are you ready For His will to be done?
Are you ready To live your life?
Are you ready To follow Christ?

Chorus:
All that was needed He became
To the glory of His name
When He died upon the cross
And took away our shame

Verse 2:
Are you ready To scream & shout?
Are you ready To rock this crowd?
Are you ready For the party to start?
Are you ready To give Him your heart?

Bridge:
He paid the price. He bought your life.
To live in sin is to steal from Him.
So turn the flow. Start changing tides.
Spend forever by His side.

Length: 2:00
Sequence:
Intro
Verse 1
Chorus
Verse 2
Chorus
Music Bridge
Bridge Chorus
Chorus
Chorus (final guitar and drum buildup)

Rick

Good stuff. I think it would make a great opening rock-out sorta song My only complaint is that it's a little cliche and the line "Are you ready to live your life?" could be referring to a lot more than a christian life.. but of course when put into the context of the song that problem disappears Good stuff!

Great job you guys!!!! I love that sort of criticism!!!!! (ie...great song!) . .

"So turn the flow. Start changing tides." I know that that's kind of cliche....I think I'm ok with it, for now, anyway.

Yes, that line, "to live your life" could mean other things, but I expect to be "preaching" at my concerts, and I'll be sure to say that you haven't started to live until you've accepted Christ.

I guess my biggest concern was that the chorus seemed to be a little bit different idea than the verses.

Other than that, I really like this song. The music rocks...I can't wait to get my new hard drive so I can record it....I have my own recording studio / computer room now, so this will be great. Oh yeah....I have one problem--I can't sing :-p. Either I'm going to have to find someone with the right type of voice to sing for me, or God's going to have to do a[nother] miracle. I guess just the fact that a total non-write like me is writing music is one in itself, right? .

Rick

Not if you explain what you just said you'd explain He had to do that before we could be ready to follow Him.
