| Tomjanovich out in Houston As reported by ESPN, Houstoun Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich stepped down as coach today due to personal reasons dealing with his recent bout with bladder cancer. He said that he wants to remain with the team in a front office role, but he has stepped down from coaching the team.
Very surprising. Link

| Thats a bummer for Houston. If i were them i sure wouldn't hire Van Gundy!! I'd either go Paul Silas or Larry Brown. |

| I wouldn't hire Van Gundy just because I really think that Silas and Brown are better and more proven coaches. Yes, Van Gundy is good... but Silas did a lot of amazing things for the Hornets... and Brown is... Well, Brown. |

Well, Brown. | what did silas do? get a bunch of shooters like Wesley, Davis, and Mashburn and they can't make it to the Eastern Conf. Finals. He simply can't coach defense, cause if those guys played D, they'd be meeting the Spurs right now. He's a great coach, just can't coach D.
Brown is great, but he'll probably end up in LA i'm thinking. He very well could end up in Houston, though.

| I really respect Rudy, but darn if that raspy voice didn't get on my nerves when they beat Orlando in the finals. |

haha, well, he's still a good coach. I just don't like his style too much....

| Carlisle ousted in Detroit In a move that has shocked the NBA, Joe Dumars has fired Rick Carlisle, the man who coached the Pistons to two Eastern Conference Finals berths.
The Pistons have reportedly hired Larry Brown, the much traveled coach who was last with the Sixers. Link

| Its possible that this could have stemed from a disagrement over who to pick next year with the 2nd pick.....Joe Dumars is extremely fond on Darko while it was rumored Rick wanted Carmello Anthony

| After two straight 50-wins seasons, he shouldn't have been fired But then again, Paul Silas lead the Hornets to 5 straight winning seasons, and he was ousted.
But if Carlisle wanted to pick Carmelo, he was stupid. The Pistons need Darko.
And this is the last place I expected to see Larry Brown. I was thinking LA or Houston. But as ESPN said, the deal isn't done yet.

| '82, I think? Not totally sure... 80's... that I'm pretty sure of.
Anyhow, Silas is out of the Houston picture. He's the new Denver coach. Interesing. |

| This is completely ridiculous. It ranks up there with the 49ers letting Marriuchi go in favor of Erickson. Anyhow, Melo would be a good choice for them. They could use the help up front, but at the same time, all of the elite teams have a scorer or two. The Pistons could really use one. |

| yeah, I don't care if the guy had some minor differences with Dumars. Dumars should of tried to work things out. This guy DID win 50 games each of the past two seasons. And its not like he had a major scorer either. He did it with Corliss Williamson, Chucky Atkins, Ben Wallace, Tayshuan Prince, Okur, and Billups. All those guys aren't prolific scorers on ANY team. Only Billups is remotely offensive minded.
This was IMO a terrible PR move for the Pistons. But, i guess, if they have their hearts set on Brown then they'll get him now.
I'll laugh if the Pistons don't do as well with coach Brown...hahaha
that would be hilarious
