Paul Colman Trio Calls for Love and Reconciliation on "One"

PAUL COLMAN TRIO CALLS FOR LOVE AND RECONCILIATION ON ONE

Band' s Sophomore Label Project In Stores Sept. 9

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) May 21, 2003-GRAMMY-nominated, New Artist of the Year, the Paul Colman Trio releases its second Essential Records project, One, Sept. 9. Following the stellar success of its American debut, One challenges listeners to be reconciled to God and to each other.

Production on One began last fall in the band' s native Australia, wrapping at the home studio of Nashville-based musician, engineer and producer Brent Milligan (The Elms, David Crowder Band). Primarily penned by frontman Paul Colman with co-writing credits going to bassist Grant Norsworthy and drummer Phil Gaudion on four of the record' s tracks, One combines strong drumbeats, melodic bass, subtle piano and distinct guitar sounds to produce an artistic backdrop for its message of love and reconciliation.

"We wanted a record that truly captures the band, "comments Colman. "We love big melodies and big songs about big topics. As we began to track the music, we really discovered that all the songs are about reconciliation."

Songs like " Solution" challenge listeners to seek resolution in relationship with Him, while "Pray" calls followers to walk in love, not judgment, toward others. "One Generation" advises those in conflict to assume responsibility and make peace with their adversaries.

Colman remarks, "One comfortably picks up where New Map of the World left off. Perhaps One has a slightly more stripped back sound and, as a result, we hope that the music is more transparent. We hope it shows maturity in songwriting, musicianship and personal growth. We want to catch your ear first and your heart second and create a soundtrack for your journey into the heart of the ministry of reconciliation."
"I'll Be With You," the album' s debut single, will go for adds on both the Adult Contemporary and Christian Hits radio formats next month. Paul Colman Trio has achieved phenomenal success during its short time on America's contemporary Christian music scene. The band supported its first label project, New Map of the World, last spring and fall as special guest on Third Day's "Come Together" tour, attended by an estimated 300,000 fans. New Map of the World has garnered the group a stream of accolades, including two No. 1 radio singles with "Turn" and "Run, "recognition as one of the Top 10 Breakthrough Artists of the Year by Radio & Records, a 2003 GRAMMY® nomination in the category of Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album, a 2003 Dove Award nod for Pop/Contemporary Album and the Gospel Music Association's coveted title of New Artist of the Year. The band recently completed its run of dates on FFH's " Ready to Fly" tour and, in addition to making the summer festival circuit, will hit the road again this fall.

Formed in 1998 in Melbourne, Australia, Paul Colman Trio (pc3), is Paul Colman (lead singer/songwriter/guitarist), Grant Norsworthy (bass/vocals) and Phil Gaudion (drums/percussion/vocals). Having released four independent albums, titled Serious Fun, Turn, pc3 Live Electric and pc3 Live Acoustic, the group was named Australia's Artist of the Year in 2000 and 2001 by The Rock Across Australia chart.
