Forgotten topics

If you read through the psalms you'll notice many times David or others praising God for His justice and His law. These topics seem to be totally neglected in modern music.. does anyone know of any songs that really deal with these topics? Or other topics that are commonly neglected?

I never really thought about it, but you are right Bob. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that is like God's law ones that David wrote.

There is one song at church that we sing and a bit of it goes... and our victory song is you are loving you are strong.

I'll keep my ears posted.

You are right, there are not too many Christian songs focusing on God's justice.

"Your Love, Oh Lord" by Third Day mentions God's justice.

I know there are songs that do speak on this subject, I just can't think of any right now...

Looks like this topic has been forgotten. it appears pretty old, but i thought i would throw in my two cents worth (well, hopefully its worth more than that!)

Matt's got a pretty cool song that has as a second verse:
I hope to see you come down,
Rend the mighty heavens,
And let Your glory cover all the earth;
to see Your sons and daughters
Come to know and love You,
And find a purer passion in the church.
These are the things my heart will pursue;
When will all the dreams come true?

I thought that was pretty cool. I was reading the scriptures and was inspired to write a few worship songs that also dealt with little talked bout issues; heres a little bit:

Make Known Your Name
We pray, you rend the heavens and come down
The mountains tremble, the fire burns throughout
Cause the nations, to shake before your name
Make known, Your name oh mighty God!
Make known, Your name oh mighty God!

Internment (coming back to You)
Part 1
I cried out to You, O my God for help
I cried out to You, to hear my pain
Stretched out my hands to You,
But You were not there

I think of You, my God, and I groan
I think of You, O LORD, and my spirit faints

Remember the days gone by
Pouring out my love to You

Chorus 1
Will the LORD reject forever
Will He never show His favor again
Has His love vanished forever
Will You never show compassion again

Restore us Again
Silence is to praise You, oh Zion dwelling God
Its chorus shouts out loud, of what we’ve sought
The anthem rings our cry, of victory
‘Your will be done’, our decree

Set Apart
Set apart by Your Word written in my heart
I will fall down in worship
You have given, You have taken
May Your Name be praised!

SONS OF KORAH!!

A funky little band from Melbourne, Australia. They're fantastic. They focus on writing acoustic stuff based on the psalms... they hardly even change the words from what is in the NIV.

I love them heaps... check them out.... Sons of Korah
