| Meaning... what is the real message behind Jefferson Aeroplane? I love the song it's one ok RK's best yet. I'm I just not getting it? to me it seems that the song is just really deep or just really random. both are cool. what is the meaning? |

| I believe it's really random, but I'm sure there's a message in there... in fact i'm gonna go listen (or read the lyrics) and see what that is, and I'll come back and post...
haha, nice name... my friends (who happen to be girls) call me Niki-Pooh (yeah... it's alot of fun...:kstare: )

| I think that Thiessien is talking about how when he's having problems, like with his girlfriend or his friends, he can always fly away in his "Jefferson Airplane" from all his troubles. He kind of expands on the message in the Two Lefts version (which is the one I assume you're asking about). During the slower part, it sounds like he's reflecting on how he's trying to be the "better person" that God wants him to be but he doesn't kind know how ("you confuse me more than anyone") and he's getting tired of trying ("maybe you could sympathize, with the bags under my eyes"). But then I think he kind of realizes that he doesn't have to go hide in his dreams when tough times come, and that God will be there to help him with his struggles ("I've got with me all that I need").
I hope you can find something useful in that last paragraph. BTW, does anyone know if this song actually has anything to do with the band Jefferson Airplane? |

| Supa, I like your def. I can see how you can link God in w/ the last lines in the Aero version....
"Find myself able to fly away w/o magic carpets or jefferson aeroplanes, I've got with me all that I need"
that could definitly be acknowladging God's presence in his life... oh well, that's what I got out of your paragraph

| eh, something like that... I can't remember if I just copied that off the liner notes...
but fairly often the liner notes don't match the song...

| That's pretty much what I got from the song too supanova. I don't think the song has anything to do with the band. The line says, "I'll throw on some Jefferson Airplane." The chorus is just probably talkin about his frustration at times with himself and life, and how he used to just depress over things by listening to jefferson airplane and "stare out the window." But later in the song he understands God is there with him and that he doesn't need to be depressed over anything. Dunno if this helped clear up anythin?

| Hey! Depress over things? No! Eating cereal and staring out the window (along with reading the paper) is what I do every morning of my life! I find it very relaxing. Try it sometime.

| Newspaper = depressing news, lol, at least for me. I like watchin some CNN every now and then to keep up with things, but the newspaper has so much bad stuff in it, with only the occassional light-hearted story. But I understand what ur saying UofMfan. I still thinks it has to do with frustration though and how life can be trying at times? So he throws on some jefferson airplane to listen and go away from the troubles. Until he finds God though, then he doesn't need anything but God to be happy with life. (without magic feathers or jefferson airplane, i've got with me all that I need)

| Funny UofMfan
I think the liner note does say 'magic feathers' and T-sun does sing 'magic feathers'
But I get what ShineN says about the words that are actually sung are sometimes different than the liner note. Happens all the time...
