You are probably going to ask why there is a "NO!!!" vote in this poll and that is from me.
I like the schooling it self from homeschooling, but here you don't get a High School Diploma, so I will have to go to a community college to get me High School Diploma. So I am applying to go to a Christian Private School called Pacific Academy. If it wasn't for the High School Diploma thing, I would probably stay and would've voted "YES"

That's too bad! Why can't you just take your GED or something? Or maybe you can't do that in Canada? Hmm...
Well, I get to graduate and have a diploma from homeschooling. The cool thing is, we get to pick our school colours, name of our school (I'm considering "Kitchen Table Academy" ), we also get to pick the design of each individuals diploma. Cool, huh? There's 14 of us graduating, and 13 of us are girls. Tee hee hee! That poor guy! Or should I say lucky? Lol! Oh well.

Peace
Beth

Actually there are correspondance programs out there where you can get a high school diploma from them by turning in work samples and quarterly reports and stuff. I'm using one to get the classes I do through homeschool creditied with the school system. If anyone wants info on these I'd be glad to give it to ya!

Yeah, I've always been homeschooled too. It's cool.
I love all the interesting responses you get when you tell people that you're homeschooled. From the weird look and "Oh, that's...nice" as they slowly step away, to the enthusiastic people who know something about homeschooling and think it's cool, to the people who are like "Gosh, I wish I could be homeschooled, then I wouldn't have to as much school". That last one really cracks me up. When I get that one I'm like, "Dude, my Chemistry's in the car, wanna go see how 'easy' it is?" Then, they're like "Okay, never mind..." Lol! I don't make 'em feel stupid, I just show them that they're wrong. It is pretty funny, though. I enjoy talking about it, I do sorta wish that I could compare it to public or private school better though. Ah well...

For my Youth Group once, the ratio of guys & girls are about 4 girls:1 guy, but there are a lot more Youth Leaders that are guys then there are that are girls, strange huh? About three months ago I think it was, I was the only guy there aside from the Youth Leaders that were guys, so there me and 12-13 girls and the girls only had 1 Youth Leader that night and I had about 4. My Youth Group sounds strange doesn't? It really great though, we always have a blast!

As for the diploma, I think it is just in British Columbia that we don't get diplomas, I'm not positive about that though.

Kitchen Table Academy would be a great name for your school, I think the admissions people at Colleges and Universities would kind of wonder about it, but then again maybe your application would get noticed? he he he

Locked into a corner, up against the wall,
I know you've been stumbling, trying not to fall.
I can feel your sorrow, and I can share your pain
I can hear the questions exploding in your brain.
Walking in the shadows, feeling all alone;
Looking for the answers, rolling every stone.
'Tis a run in silence, and laughing nearly came
Though my eyes can't see you, I know we're much the same.

The sky is raining tears tonight My brother You know it's hard to sleep So far from home The moon has covered up her eyes My sister I thought I'd find you here But I am all alone All alone Light of Heaven Lord of mercy Shine the goodness Of your love upon this day Till we see you Till we know you Till the sorrow And the darkness fades away Fades away I searched the city streets today My father The tunnel and the train The river and the rain I walked beneath the harbor lights My mother And in the shadows there I call your name I call your name

I lov-ED it. I graduated in 2000. I did it my entire life and thought it was great, and have yet to see any bad side effects, except mabye not as many friends. But I think quality is better than quantity anyways.

The diploma thing is easily rectified.

Loved it! I was homeschooled my entire school "career" or whatever you call it... I graduated in 2000 too, Novan, go class of 2000! Anyway, being homeschooled was great because it allowed me to travel whenever and wherever, so that was a major plus! I don't think I have as many friends who actually live in my city, becuase i have been gone alot, but I do have a ton of friends all over the world so I suppose that makes up for it anyway, glad to see so many homeschoolers!

Talking

I was homeschooled from the 2nd grade through the 10th. I'm 16 now and I'm a freshmen at the local community college. Of course you all know that homeschoolers move faster than them public school people, so I decided to go ahead and start college. I really don't see why ya'll are stressing about the highschool diploma. I just got a GED and requested admission into college. No problems, so it might be worth a look for ya'll.

A Beka rules... Did anybody have Mr. Howe???

Hahaha! Yep, it probably would get noticed alright...
Yeah, actually, I named it 'North Shore Academy'. I used to live in Northern Minnesota, and I love it up there, so yep, I sent my transcript to Covenant Bible College today. Along with my pic...

I definitely recommend CBC to anybody who is feeling called to a life of discipleship, as that's mainly what they're about... So, yeah, enough advertising..

Peace,
Beth

:D

I'm in my last year of homeschooling...I started homeschool late in my 9th grade year..and I'll finish at 10th..and just like Mr. Squirrel I'll head on to college!

I love being homeschooled..the environment is so much better!!! It's LOTS different from what I grew up in ..and its def. helped me grow spritiually.

Some ppl think that homeschool isn't as hard as regular school..and that it gets you no where...but I have lots of proof from many ppl that you can acomplish just as much being homeschooled as you can in a public school. (my opinion)

God Bless!
