Regardless of what the tuning is, I could never reach the 9th string... could you? how about 9th string 15th fret??

A 6 string would be nice. That upper register and the extra lower register, that offers some nice chording and tapping options.

Me and my friend were arguing over the tuning of this bass, and I felt that we needed some more opinions on the subject.

I think I know S T U P I D I T Y, that is way to many strings for anyone to ever play on unless you are the jolly green giant and have hands that could fit around watermelon all the way.

If you're going to have that many strings, you might as well have a Chapman Stick. Those things are cool.

I saw that stick the guy in the picture is holdning, now that I know it is called a chapman stick I was wondering what it does.

No, the guy in b_hoves' post is just holding a bass with about 9 strings or so.

It's a stringed instrument which is positioned parallel to your body which is played by tapping.
