considering that dcTalk and Toby Mac sound completely different, i'm really kinda baffled at the connection.

The conection could come from the fact that:
A) I'm not allowed to listen to dcTalk and therefore have only heard four of their songs, and
B) I'm not allowed to listen to Toby Mac and have only heard ONE of his songs.

I'm being made fun of by the girls at AWANA for not liking certain bands or never having heard them. I say that if they want to convert me, they had better loan me the CDs.

You're not allowed to listen to dc talk? I thought I had conservative parents...

(Please don't take offense to this post. I was merely joking. )

Well, my mom wouldn't have too much of a problem with it, it's my dad. He doesn't like Newsboys, Jars of Clay, Third Day....

Wow, that's amazing. What's your dad want you to listen to Gather Vocal Band? But anyway, as hard as it may seem, you still gotta respect your parent's authority. Maybe you could get your mom to advocate for you to your dad.

Yeah I would definitely try that it would totally be worth the try or even just have your parents check out DC talk's lyrics at www.christianrocklyrics.com

Back to the orginal topic, If you guys have ever read any reviews on Toby Mac, Toby Mac has said that they will not be making another DC Talk album unless they are dying to.

I would personally love for DC Talk to come back and make another album and go on a "reunion tour".

But I think it could be challenging for DC Talk to come up with new material to meet the expectations of their fans, because if they came back everyone would expect another "Jesus Freak" album.

Honestly I think they could, but it would be alot of pressure on them.

Even if DC Talk never makes another song, I won't be disappointed, because look at their impact on Christian music. They really took it up another notch.

Before DC Talk there was Stryper and Petra and Guardian but Stryper stopped in about 93 and Petra started to fade right after 94 and 95, and Guardian switched to a more alternative style in 94 and 95, and DC Talk came at the perfect time and made an awesome album. Remember DC Talk was also the first real sucessful Christian rap group.

And if DC Talk comes back I think they will come back at the right time, but right now look at all the other popular Christian bands out there Switchfoot, P.O.D., Anberlin, 12 Stones, Lifehouse, etc. and I think Toby Mac is doing great with his funky rap/rock, and if anything right now Christian rap needs to be taken up another level.

That is my opinion, don't get me wrong I think it would be awesome for DC Talk to come out with another album, but I think if they come back it will be at the right time.

I agree; they have made a huge impact. I can't think of many other Christian bands in the '90s that made a bigger impact than they did.

Yeah, I forgot about them. But I think that DC Talk's Jesus Freak was one of the most important releases of the '90s.

My dad loves Southern Gospel Music and the Gaither Vocal Band. Me? I really couldn't care less!
