Where exactly is the article about them taking a break? And how long have they been on the break? It seems like forever, but It is probally scince 2000 or 2001.
Actually, reading K-Max's book, I think I remember him saying it was a crappy college...

Not only from him, though, I've heard it sucks.

Nice dorms and campus though, thats awesome. But the food is...blah. But the campus is so huge and you have to walk everywhere. They have a 12:00 cerfew, and the police enforce it...I was out late eating pizza with Elvis Presleys step brother (Yes, the real Elvis Presley, and his real brother Rick Stanley...tis another story I might continue in my blog)

Anyway...to add to the dicussion. I have never seen Kmax in concert, But I have seen Tait and TobyMac, a enormous ammount of times. I have never even seen a concert of his promoted or advertised..why is this?

Kevin Max, weird? Please explain. This is one of my pet peeves, and most people have absolutely no idea what they're talking about....They just like Toby's album more.

Hm, where? I can see him not liking it at all, but I don't remember him saying it in the book (that I own).

Money.

I saw him perform twice in 2003....and it was great. I have some pictures of one of the shows. I might scan them sometime soon.

He never came out and said "I hated Liberty University", but he sort of implied it. I'll look at it again...

Kevin is a little weird, for example, his music video.

Yep they were better together. I think Toby Mac is makin it alright but i don't like him on his own (mainly b/c i don't like rap) and Tait doesn't seem to be hittin it off real big.

I don't think it would be that big of a deal if tait broke up... They are on there third guitarist and second bassist right now.

As for tobyMac, I think a lot of people would be disapointed if he went back to dc talk because I know a lot of people like him.

As for Kevin Max.. honestly, I have never heard any of his stuff.

Personally, I love tait. I think lose this life and empty are both exellent albums, lose this life being one of my favrite albums ever. While I don't really like rap (and most of tobyMacs stuff) I would have to say that when I saw him at winter jam a month ago he really rocked ...speaking of winterjam, tait and tobyMac did Jesus freak and In the light together. Maybe they are trying to get people excited about dc talk.
At this point, its anyone's guess as to what will happen to dc talk.

I've never really liked much of Tait's music. From what I have heard, it sounds just about as generic and bland as a CCM band can possibly get.

While I admit that I have Tobymac's "Momentum", I don't really care for his "rap" music much either. There are a few songs I enjoy, but most of the lyrics just sound like Toby is trying too hard to sound like some kind of hardcore rapper. That could just be me though

Kevin's music, on the other hand, is really good in my opinion. And of course, it has also gone highly underrated compared to the other guys' solo material.

I'm not a big DC Talk fan (I only have "Intermission") but it will be interesting to see what their music will sound like, assuming they ever get back together.

What's so "weird" about that video? I know corruptchristianmusic.com didn't like it, but...

I think I'm going to never post again on the "Kevin really is the best of the three" thing. It's hopeless.....but if Kevin gets a secular deal and becomes popular in that market, I bet everyone would be all over him.

If I'm not mistaken, Kevin DID get a secular deal. Northern Records is secular, right?

Man, you're missing out then. His work is very individual sounding, and definitely worth a listen.

I honestly don't like Lose This Life either. Empty was way better. However, I think Lose This Life is more Christian radio-friendly because they mention Jesus more. Doesn't mean that it is better musically, because it isn't. But I do think Pete Stewart was better than their new guitarist.
