I get to be first! (Perk of the job). Solid 8. Very funny, but I don't think it will really see all that much play time in my CD player. I love it, but not in the same way that I love their other CDs.

It doesn't say it for the same reason that bS2's "The Light of Things Hoped For" was edited. "Christian" music industry politics.

I assume your talking about the part of the album where it says "When you hear this song I hope it hurts like h8ll " (bold words are bleeped out by the turn-tables)

Anyways, "Cheeses" it a great cd. Some of the songs are hilarious and it was cool to hear some of the earlier versions of their songs (old west, cool enough, ect.) and the original words to Ugly Day. Plus Kamikazee is a great "real" song. My only regret is that I wish some of the songs were longer. If they could've wrote another verse or so for some of the songs, it would've made the album better.

Anyhoo, I loved the cd and think it's great, especially with it being the next-to-last cd FIF is ever putting out.

I like Five Iron Frenzy..

But the name of the CD is blasphemous. Its taking the Saviours Mighty Name and dragging it through the mud. This is not how I want my Saviours name to be used...

Acts 3:6

Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."

I think this is akin to taking the name of the Lord in vain. Would you buy a CD that was titled "Goddammit" even if it WAS by a Christian artist?

FIF just went down a notch in my books...

The name of the album is a comment on the state of the church.

dude! did u read what FIF said about the title in the lil cd booklet??? and i quote:
Quote:
"The title Cheeses of Nazareth, is by no means intended to be sacrilegious. It is intened to be comical, and we chose the name not to satirize Christ, but Christian culture in America. Although many of the songs on this album seem to lack in Christian content, we hope that our lives reflect the love of Christ Jesus and the changes that He has made within us. If you were expecting a sermon, I would like to suggest attending any weekly church service at any of the millions of churches worldwide. They are usually free."

I don't know about this cd. I was really excited when I bought it. I absolutely LOVED Electric Bogoloo. I was disappointed. Except for the Fistful of Sand "freestyle" and a few other tracks I really didn't find this cd that funny. It was definately an intersting cd, but it seemed to me this cd was a little throw together. There are some really bonus tracks from previous albums they could have put in. And I know someone will say "well that would be repetitive", but I think the album could have used those few songs (Kingdom of the Dinosaurs, maybe some stuuf from the live album). Anyway, a good attempt from FIF, but I was a little disappointed. Never the less, we should all see them with Holland and Bleach on the Winners Never Quit Tour! I'll see them with Blindside and many other bands at Purple Door!
