No I got him in June.
The problem was.....
I was orriginally going to get the Chesnut, but it turned out he would be too big to she when he grew up.
Then I was going to get the Siamese Sable, but he turned out to have the same problem as the Chesnut.
Then I went to the Ruby-eyed-white, but at abut 3 weeks of age he stoped growing. When this happens to rabbits, the rabbit is called a "fader" Which means, "Failure to thrive." They usually can never survive a the change to a new family (even if they survive to be old enough to be sold.) and even then they usually live about a week after they are sold. If you keep them, I beleive the longest recorded life-span of a fader was 1 year. The avarage life span of a rabbit (of the smaller ones like I have) is 7 years.
So I was going to go to the show and see if there were any other breeders there and make my decision then.
A breeder from BC Canada came down, and she was selling a litter, and Elijah was one of them. He looked like the best one to me and was definitely the best show quality.
I had decided on a name long before I got him. I named my first Jersey Wooly (the breed I raise) Errol, and my second Esther. When I bred them, it made sence that their daughter should have an "E" name to match. I named her Ellie. So almost without knowing it, I named my first 3 Jersey Woolies E names. From there I got my rabbitry name, "E-Woolies Rabbitry".
If anybody's got any good BOY E names (got enough girl) please pm them to me.
There's the tale!
