i really want to know more about this guitar if any of you have it, and i would like to know more about the electronics.

my birthday is at the end of may, so i still have about half a month to look. any suggestions within the price range are welcome.

thanks

I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

I dont know if this is the same one but I played a alvarez similar to that at the local guitar shop and I liked it better than any acoustic I've ever played, with the exception of my uncle's Gibson Hummingbird. I'd say that would be a great guitar.

I started off with an Alvarez (one that goes for about $500 today, but was a little less back then) and I really enjoyed my time with that guitar. It was good enough that I didn't feel bad selling it to my cousin, who has played it for several years now and loves it. My only issue with it was that the intonation started becoming a bit "funky" to my ear up around the 7th and higher frets. Not that it was bad intonation, because most acoustic guitars can't have perfect intonation (most all are some sort of compromise). That particular Alvarez's intonation just touched a small nerve with me up high. There were other accomplished musicians who heard what I heard, and some who heard it and said, "I kinda like that..." My cousin was one who said "I kinda like that..."

Anyway, I'd suggest playing the gutiar in several registers (areas of the neck) when you're shopping to rule out guitars that don't suit your ear. Of course, your ear (like mine) might change its preferences over time. Overall, I think Alvarez makes a lot of decent production guitars. You can't just go to a store and pick an Alvarez off the shelf and carry it to the register, though. Each potential purchase needs a close inspection for defects and construction issues, as well as a good hearty "listening session."

not really 750 on "just an acoustic" 750 towards a nice acoustic/electric. i would save the other hundred but my folks are paying for the guitar and i asked already if i could pay the difference and they said no. so...
