I need help!!!! (I'm hoping KeyboardFreak will respond )
Does anyone know the song "Give Thanks" by Don Moen? In the beginning there is a really cool piano intro. On Easter Sunday I'm supposed to play that part, but I'm having difficulty understanding it. Can someone please tell me how to do it??
Ummm... it might help if you could tell us what recording you're listening to. There have probably been at least ten or fifteen different recordings of that particular song; most of which probably have piano intros. There's no way for us to tell which one you're talking about.
My suggestion, however, would be to simply improvise some other intro instead of trying to directly copy the one on the recording. Just play the melody line with a lot of little runs and arpeggios.
In His love,
Nate

Sorry this is like an eternity late, but maybe it will help for future references.
Well I went through all my Don Moen recordings of Give Thanks. There's officially five.
The only one I could think of that you would be looking for the piano part to would be his live album from 1992, "Worship With Don Moen" catchy title eh?
Its a two measure intro and very quick. All he was doing was
F Bb F Dm

with the arpeggios and all that shtuff. Its just walking up and down the chords really quick. Dm for a measure and straight into 'Give Thanks'
I think that's about it. I could be a little off regarding some 7ths or something but I only listened to it for a second.
