I almost forgot about his sonnets... I love them! They're great.

"So are you to my thoughts as food to life,
Or as sweet-season'd showers are to the ground;
And for the peace of you I hold such strife
As 'twixt a miser and his wealth is found."

I'm at the Shakespeare festival near where I live, unfortunately,. I took the writing strand instead of the acting strand (I'm not in Drama, so I was more than a little intimidated) The acting so far has been great. Yesterday I saw "Hamlet" twice (once as a 15 minute hilarious spoof and once as a fantastic production) and The Tempest, as well as smaller skits that were all positively excellent.
I've loved the acting I've done and want to do more. Out of the characters I could play, I would want to play Cate. I have my own "shrew"ish streak, and I loved the version of "The Taming Of The Shrew" with Elizabeth Taylor.

Yes. Shakespeare seems to translate very well to the screen. A Midsummer Night's Dream and Romeo and Juliet also came across very well.

Shakespeare translates well to everything! Its the universal themes, can be set anytime, anywhere. Like Romeo and Juliet/West Side story? How many of us have seen Shakespeare done in WWII era or Western? I have...he is such a master at universiality that it works no matter what you do! Its great! Thats why his works are still alive and kickin, and still move people to tears, all these 100s of years later!

I'll be at The Globe next spring...I can't wait!
