| There were two friends, Mike and Nick. They had grown up together, and were the best of friends. During Nick's sophomore year in high school, he ended up giving his life to Christ. Afterwards, he always shared the gospel with Mike, and tried to get him to go to church with him, but in vain. Eventually college rolled around, and Mike and Nick went their separate ways. Mike went to an out of state college on a partial swimming scholarship, and Nick went to his hometown college. Mike was a pretty good swimmer, and he made a goal that he would be in the olympics one day, which fueled his drive to practice in the campus gym everyday. One night, he couldn't sleep and he decided to do a few laps in the pool. Though the lights were all turned off, the pool had a skylight that shined a tinted-blue light on the water. He proceeded to climb to the highboard, and when he got to the top he spread his arms wide, preparing to dive in. As he was about to jump, he noticed on the far wall his shadow, which looked like Jesus on the crucifix with his arms spread the way he had them. Thinking back, he had heard his friend Nick preach to him many times in high school about the love of Christ, but he never really cared for it, but something struck him as he looked at his shadow on that far wall. With tears in his eyes, It was on the edge of that diving board that Mike finally accepted Christ. Just then, the janitor came in and flipped on the lights. The pool had been drained that evening for maintenance.
