| Do you record? Post'em here!! Instead of having a bunch of different threads for people posting there recordings i decided to make this one. So, if you have stuff you've recorded you can post them here or post links to them here. Also, give comments, corrective criticism, or whatever on the recordings in here. Enjoy!

| Check these out. I used ONLY my acoustic guitars, my Pandora PX4 for the drum loops and effects, and cool edit pro 2 to record with. Let me know what you think. Bow Mix Jimi Mix Mixdown Elec Crazy Slow Acoustic Mix Spanish Mix Unspoken Mix
I'll try and record and post some more later. Im workin on one thats more acoustic and another one that is harder, with distortion.

| Bow Mix: The intro is okay, but the quality level sky rockets when the other parts come in. A little heavy on the vibrato effect, but the parts work together really nicely. Great chorus parts, and the drum sample sounds nice.
Jimi Mix: There's heavy hiss especially in the beginning. I feel for you though. I still get that sometimes, and can't always get rid of it. Are you using a drum machine, or are they all samples? The guitar parts are okay. I liked the first one more.
Slow acoustic mix: Hiss in this one too, but guitar parts are cooler. Great delay effect. I think I like the overall sound of your lead parts more than your rhythm parts in general. I don't know quite what it is. I'd add a little bass to it I think, maybe take some of the mids away too, by about 4 db.
Unspoken mix: I like the tremolo, but it's still stands out a lot. Maybe that's what you wanted though, so 'sall good. Better progression in this one than the others ones I think. The rhythm parts have too much distortion on them, causing them to buzz a bit.
Can’t get the others to work. Keep up the good work, bro! |

| Oh, and you can hear some of my stuff at www.soundclick.com/joshbrahm. Occasionally it's server gets bogged down, so if you have a hard time streaming songs with that one, go to www.acidplanet.com and run a search for my name. Not as many songs, but it'll get you started on some of my piano stuff at least. |

| Thanks for the citique on the songs, piano boy. I don't have a drum set or access to one so yeah i do use drum loops. Some of the one's i use are from my Pandora and some i create with Fruity Loops. The jimi mix one i thought was ok, i just kinda through it together to check out an effect, it's probably the worst one though . The hissing i could eliminate on all the songs with my Cool Edit Pro, it has a great filter, but just haven't gotten around to it. The levels are quite what they could be on all the songs, didn't spend enough time mixing and mastering i guess. The new ones im doing im trying harder to get them right. Also, im doing another acoustic type one with bass and it'll be longer. Also, im doin another one with distortion, i'll try do less distortion to reduce the buzz. I'll try and get those other two to work later. Thanks again for the advice, it's the only way to get better i would say.
btw, whats your name on acidplanet.com. I couldn't find you in the search.

| This is the start of a song I am writing for my band. It is just a rough draft if you will. It was all recorded direct through my J-station into Cakewalk.

| Piano Boy, I love "The Forest". That is beautiful and moving, I love it. It's really good. Whoa, wait.. that was improv?!
Very nice, TheDanish. I like the lyrics. I find it amazing that you can sing, play guitar, and play the djimbe with your feet all at once! You are very coordinated .
Very interesting, Guitar MC. Not a once did I think of an alternative meaning to your song. The entire song was obviously about your obsession with your guitar's 3rd metal wire, tuned to the note of G where A=440. Yes, they do break easily. Down by the nut.
Yeah, here's something I just did. A little jazz solo improv.

| Heya,
Here's a simple little something I did on my acoustic (of course) - I had just gotten back from guitar lessons, and the lesson was about chord progressions and keys and stuff.. so I was dieing to fool around with that when I got home, and this is what I did.
I sure wish I had creativity, then I could come up with a melody line!

OnFireForGod, my name is Josh Brahm, and that's what you can search for at acidplanet. I need to get some more songs there though.
I'm attaching a clip from the beginning of the last song I wrote, "Rachel's Song." The story behind this one is completely different. I didn't improvise it, but I completely wrote it in my head, and wrote what I heard on blank sheet music, and didn't play it for days until I got to church to record it. It's based on a friend of mine whose family has to move in a few weeks, and she has mono too. You can hear the rest of the song, and read more details about the story at www.soundclick.com/joshbrahm. Give me your imput! God Bless!
~Josh
And if you think of them, please pray for the Kellers. They have like 12 days left to move by. Thanks! |
