John Thomson's definetely the Ranger's best pitcher so far. 7 innings today of one run ball (the game isn't over yet!), but he's doing real well this year.

Maddux returned to form today, after Pedro had a terrible day yesterday.

Another win for Montreal Expos over the N-Y Mets. It's now four in a row I believe. Seems that they like to show off at their Porto Rico stadium.

yehaw, Ismael Valdes is doing a great job tonight on the mound for the Rangers. Blalock homered and so has Everett. Its only the 7th, though!

WOW, mark prior got beat up today by the Reds...ouch

Oh well, his ERA is still below 2. Man, how 'bout that Matsui fella for the Yankees, he's good, how old is he?

And would someone explain this closing by comittee thing Boston tried, I didn't get a chance to see it and I don't know how it works.

yeah, matsui is a great hitter. I think he's in his upper 20's.

Prior got hit, but didn't do as bad as i first thought. They took him out before one of their relievers gave up 3-4 ER's.

WOW, the Giants are 12-1, thats really good. Bonds has 5 homers too, and Cruz Jr. is fitting in well.

Bonds is only 5 stolen bases away from being the first ever 500/500 in history.

Man, our young pitchers are really getting the job done!

Yeah! I think that his speed is very much... or WAS a very much overlooked part of his game. At the only game I saw live ( to that...) back in 97, I saw him steal second. On a pickoff move. Wow.

Barry Bonds has one of the only swings in baseball (along with Juan Gonzalez) that make it look like they are playing wiffle ball. Ya'll remember that game? You toss a whiffle ball and the other person tries to hit it with a plastic bat. Fun game...anyway, when these guys hit homers, it reminds me of when i would hit homers with a whiffle ball, thats how easy their swings appear. Not much effort, just smooth

definitely. I was always a fan of Tony Gwynn and Will Clark's swings... circa late 80's, early 90's... not a ton of power, but man, the game just looked easy to those two.

speaking of my boys... 7-4 in the bottom of the 8th.... it's looking like win #13 is on the way!

*edit - 8-4 going into the ninth! Whoo! Those errors are KILLING Houston

*double edit - 13-1! .929!! Awesome. I'm loving it.
