They don't have to be Christian, if every Christian calls them Christian then they will probably lose influence in the mainstream, I don't think they are Christian but they are definitely a sweet positive band. And really doing a lot of good in the world.

When you say you don't think they are christian, do you mean "they aren't a christian band" or "the band members aren't saved"?

U2

I once saw in an interview by the band Tait that a question was asked by the interviewer. he asked if they considered themselves a 'Christian' band. Michael replied that you can't have a 'Christian' band but that they are christians in a band. He said that most of there songs deal with spiritual things but some are just for fun. i thought that was a neat way to look at it because you can say you're a christian but still say or do things that don't please the Lord because of our sinful nature. Tait responded in a right manner because instead of missing out on great music just because a band isn't called a "Christian" band we can look at it through God's eyes and see if their music and/or lyrics pleases God. just think of all of the amazing musicians that we would be missing out on! i'm not saying we should listen to every "non-christian" band or anything but we should use our judgement and God's to decide what is acceptable in his eyes.

The songs in U2 have a sort of ambiguity about them. For example: (One for each decade)

With or Without You; 1980s (1987): The 'you' could be interpreted as your lover, family, friends or God as it doesn't directly interpret who 'you' can be, leaving the audience to use it in their own way.

Beautiful Day; 2000s (2000): The lyrics suggest something lost or frustrating, as it says the "traffic is stuck...you not moving anywhere" and in the second verse he mentions the feel of entrapment as he is "in the maze of her imagination". So in a way, U2 could be trying to send a message to forget your troubles as it is a "beautiful day". However (with U2 tradition), there is a hidden Biblical reference- a sentence to "see the bird with the leaf in her mouth/After the flood all the colours came out" which is an obvious reference to the 40 day/night flood.

One; 1990s (1992) : I'm not really sure (hey I'm just 15- my interpretation skills are still a bit iffy) but the lyric "One but we're not the same" could possibly refer to the Trinity or could be a rallying call.

There plenty of others- in fact every U2 album has a sort of Biblical allegory or reference within the lyrics. For detailed lyric interpretation check U2MOL (Google it if you have to).

(Note bad for a 15 year old eh?

U2

That's really awesome…The last time I saw U2 was along time. I thought it was the best concert that I had ever been to even the tickets price was highly priced. Coz before I used not to research enough to see if there were better pricing. But after finding now I can save some dollars from Tickethold.com
