| i got new socks, and other fun stories. everyones doing it. why not give into peer pressure? i say.
well first off, i suppose its not really peer pressure, i don't know how well i could call everyone here on CGR my peers but whatever, i'm doing a blog.
i could start by telling you about me. yeah, that could be a good thing.
i am hardcore music these days, these days being my junior year in high school. i'm in Band and choir, and do extra curricular music stuff. chamber singers is a small, mostly a capella group that sings renaisance, baroque, and high quality contemporary music. its really cool, a bunch of kids that work hard on singing together.
my other main extra curricular is jazz band. i'm 3rd trumpet in the premiere jazz band at my school.
right now i'm in the musical Footloose. i'm really excited, mostly. i got the part of chuck cranston, which is an awesome part, with a vocal solo and everything. the only problem is, theres kissing involved, among other stuff, and, well, i've never kissed anyone. my poor lips are gonna lose their virginity in a stage kiss. what kinda junk is that?
i have a passion for worship leading. i feel that God has given me a voice and enough musical sense that i should be directing music for worship of Him, on whatever scale it is. my experience so far is a great little youth group band, in a great little youth group. all we were was me on guitar and vocals, 3 altos, and a drummer. we were pretty good musically, and definately worshiped, which is more important anyway.
alas, i am between churches now, and i miss not having a group of people you get together and pray and worship with every week, like my old worship team
thats alot about me. if anyone reads this and wants to ask anything more about me, i'm sure i'll answer it.

| ah yes. in this day and age of war with Iraq, we are glad the french are not on our side. we'd end up defending them anyway.
i am proud to say I was making fun of the french last fall, long before the current uselessness of France was realize.
my Chamber Singers Group even learned how to say "we surrender" in french,(don't know how to spell it, just say it)
today has been a wonderful saturday. i put new strings on my Taylor last night, and they sound wonderful. i 'm remaining happy with my D'Addario EXP16 Lights. they're wonderful.
the Wisconsin Badgers play a big tourny game this evening. Mike Wilkinson, the starting center, went to my old high school.
i used to cover his little brother in practices all the time. i even blocked a shot by mike himself in a pickup game. oh yeah. brag up that one.
seriously folks, keep an eye on Mike, he rocks.
yeah thats how it is. i think i like that smilie. its original. ya don't use that one much. can't leave him all alone.
since i haven't done anything worth mentioning today, i'll tell you more about myself. i wouldn't want this blog to be boring for its reader(s).
:kcool: nevermind, i'm playing with smilies more.
:kduh: kduh. interesting.
:kstare: kstare. i won't blink. i promise.
i'm gonna stop typing now. i'll come back when i have something good to say. |

there is partying in wisconsin tonite, let me tell you.
as for me, i'm sticking around the house, doing not much. cause yeah, i have nothing better to do that nothing. how cool is that?
i just felt that a post celebrating wisconsin's victory was appropriate in here, seeing as it was definately the most interesting moment in my day. thats all for now. |

| SNL is officially really bad. i laughed at 2 things tonite.
the first was a "Pranksters" show, where they had people playing dumb pranks like the water bucket on the door, or stuffed animal rat in a drawer kinda thing, and then a guy came on whose idea of a prank was to beat someone up with a tire iron. it was funny. it really was. but i don't know if it would be funny if it wasn't 1030 when i watched it.
the other funny moment was a cameo by Steve Martin during weekend update. yeah. bring back a guy from when the show was funny. thats actually a good idea. if they had talent like they used to have, the show might actually be funny.
oh well. good thing i rarely watch SNL.
ah the lack of joys of being between churches. i don't know where i'm gonna go to church tomorrow yet. most of my church going friends are out of town so i don't have anyone to go with anywhere. i'm gonna be all alone.
tis a dillema, i tell you.
i'm planning a party for this week, being my spring break. people will actually drive out here over break, i think. i live a good 25 minutes from everyone pretty much, and its hard to get people to drive, but its worth it for them if they come, i've got quite the little party place.
a girl at school told me to call her this weekend. i was pretty excited. i called her tonite and she wasn't home. i kinda knew she wouldn't be home, if i would have thought it through. oh well. it was her mom that answered, much prefered to a dad. "yeah tell her david jordan called." i'm not a fan of leaving messages. i didn't tell her to call back either. so now i'm all like...hmm, can i call her again now or is that rude unless she tries to call me first?
i'm not too concerned really, shes awesome and we get along great, we just wanna hang out over break sometime.
yesterday was the last day of school before spring break, and i only had one class, calculus, where we did anything. the rest of the classes we just sat around. it was pretty cool. it was also fine arts week this last week. there were performances of different types almost every hour in the auditorium, or "Performing Arts Center" as they like to call it.
i performed 4 times. it was nice to get out of class to do that.
i sang lead in a doowop trio. we sang "Blue Moon" it rocked. the girls loved it. and yet i'm still single. sigh. its God's plan i say. yes it is. all in His time.
i also played in a brass quintet that included 3 all state instrumentalists. myself not one of them.
ooh yes. our brand new PAC. its a beaut. i cannot begin to tell you how pretty it is.
a week ago i found out i didn't make it into state honors choir. i had a really bad audition, but was hoping to get lucky. i didn't. neither did my friend, a fellow david, but he's a baritone, not a tenor. he sang bass in our doowop trio.
david and i are becoming pretty good buds right now. hes a fairly new christian, a little over a year now, and wow has God changed him.
hope you enjoyed my fairly random ramblings. |

| i went to church today. its the right thing to do. lol. not by works but by faith alone, i know, save me the theology here. of course, NO ONE EVER RESPONDS TO MY BLOG SO IT DOESN'T MATTER!
peace be with you, brothers and sisters. limh.
i went to High Point Church today. www.highpointchurch.org if you are bored. its very nice in many ways. i think i might end up there. not entirely sure yet though.
i don't know if i'm going to go to a youth group tonite, or where i would go. all my friends are out of town. it was lonely enough going to church entirely alone, it would be worse to go to a youth group and not know anyone.
what to do what to do?
ha ha. thats the second thing i've typed today that comes straigt from a Footloose song. the first being "the right thing". i'm obsessed, what can i say?
tis all. |

| so i just figured out that i can access my blog through my link in my signature.
funny how no one else uses that.
no seriously, it made me happy, cause i used to just to have to go to "journals/ blogs" in the forums list, then go to "G" then find mine. but now i just click on whatever post i just did. and bammy. i'm there.
tonite i went to a youth group at Blackhawk Evangelical Free church. it was pretty nice. i had a few friends there, a slight plus.
the guys there play basketball afterwards every sunday. well i haven't played in 8 months, and i'm really out of shape. i played. i embarrassed myself. really bad. yeah.
i need to get in shape again, i resolve. maybe i'll get up tomorrow and run. not likely though.
i'm considering getting another identity in CGR so i can respond to my posts in here, so it looks like i have a friend. pretty clever eh? |

| so i worked today. planted about an acre of potatoes. unfortunately, we had to do it by hand. so no scary machine, and i still have 10 fingers.
but man, i dug so many holes.
oh well, its money. hey, $20, i could get a duet of Jellifish picks. yep.
or not...
i played guitar quite a bit this afternoon, and actually did something useful. i played harmony on my guitar while i sang melodies to hymns, then switched. its kinda difficult. then i worked on creating tablature in my head for hymns, by looking at piano music. also slightly difficult for me. finally, i did tons and tons of key changes. after warming up, i had a conversation with my mom, changing keys as we talked. then she'd give me a new key and i'd move into that one as we talked. its a sick music game to play in a musical family like my own. so yeah, for the first time since i stopped leading worship i did something that makes me a better musician. amazing.
i'm supposed to figure out what i'm gonna do this summer this week.
i'm thinking i'll go to lifest www.lifest.com
DCLA in cincy www.dcla2003.com
and Blue Lake www.bluelake.org
only problem is making it all work.
so i'm home doing nothing over spring break. home theatre time, i think. yep. star wars episode 2, with the subwoofer cranked and the other speakers too.
yeah. thats how its gonna be tonite. step away from CGR. go watch a movie.
you all can get along without me right? seeing as i'm such a big and respected poster....
peace |

| so i had a great post ready to put up here, and my browser quit. that made me unhappy, let me tell you.
so i went to the cool worship thing last night. it was good until the last, when the worship leaders lost focus, started goofing around, and pulled me right outta worship. not appreciated, let me tell ya.
spring break rocks. i work for a few hours and make money. i go spend the money on guitar stuff. i play guitar. i go to church stuff and worship. i hang out with friends.
could it get better?
yeah, i think so.
i worked more today. my arms still really hurt from yesterday from pounding 50 posts into the ground. i can barely lift my guitar. pain.
i have a new line. its in my sig. single and waiting. cause thats what i am. not looking, but waiting for that right someone. now i feel like i've got things under control. except i don't, cause God does.
Badgers play tonite. Kentucky, really good team. its gonna be a hard one to win, but they can do it. not that i'll be all heartbroken if they lose.
Marquette too. Steve Novak, their freshman center, is crazy good. i played his old high school in football last year. i don't know if he played. i doubt it, cause he's a 6-10 stick. but they beat us anyway. really bad.
thats why i'm a music geek now. ya don't ever get hurt.
my friends girl friend called her mom from germany and said that everyone was doing great and all that. made me happy to hear that, cause they haven'tt been kind enough to update the website very often.
ah well.
guitar lesson then a party for the game after that. good times.
post here. it will make you feel better about yourself, trust me. |
