God's Jedi in da house

Wasssup my homies?? Sorry, that was my sad attempt to look cool:kblush . Anyway, my name is Andrew, I'm a whole 15 years old, I've been homeschooled for 4 years, and love to play the guitar and piano. Wow, what else do you need to know about me? Oh, I got something. On my birthday this year, my friend and I went to a Newsboys concert. There was some of the best worship time I've ever experienced when they played It Is You. I love all things Star Wars, and am a huge Atlanta Braves fan.

I love to play CCM songs on the piano, and have some Michael W. Smith, Chris Rice, and some others. But the only song I have ever truly wanted to learn is Do You Dream of Me by MWS, but have never been able to find the sheet music. So if anyone can help me out on that, I would deeply appreciate it. I'll post back when something interesting happens to me, whcih should happen by 2015. God Bless.

The War and stuff

Well, I guess I might as well say something about the war. In his tv briefing, Saddam told his people to "draw their swords against the enemy". I just have this to say about that: draw all the swords you want, Saddam, but we'll be drawing our Tomahawks, M-16s, and more stuff that's a lot better than swords.

I haven't decided who has the best coverage yet. CNN is pretty cool, they have lots of maps and graphics and stuff, so I think it is probably them. Fox can't seem to spell, because I'm always seeing misspelled words on that scroll-thing-a-ma-jig at the bottom of the page. I just choose not to watch MSNBC at all.

In other news, it looks like my Braves are gonna do quite well this year. Their new pitching staff is looking good, and this new guy Robert Fick is hitting amazingly. Down with the Yankees!! Down with the Yankees!!!

Ok, well i guess that's all for this day. I'll catch ya'll later. God Bless.

Mmmmmmm...'splosions

Wow. Now those were some BIG bombs they dropped on Baghdad. I think they said something like 120 Cruise missles, and a couple of those sweet, sweet 2,000 pound bombs dropped from a B2. Unlike my friends who were stuck in school doing their boring work, I was fortunate enough to be able to watch it as it happened. There is one thing that will stick with me forever that happened: Fox's reporter was at a hotel across the river, not even 2 miles from where the bombs were falling. Just listening to his voice made me think "this has to be the bravest guy out there." I truly felt "shock and awe."

The coolest weapons that we have, in my humble opinion, are the Navy Seals. Those guys are awesome. I saw a little earlier where a group of them took the two main oil bunkers, or whatever you call them, in less than 2 minutes. Please everyone pray for them, our other special forces, and all the troops over there. I know some people from our church who are over there.

I'll probably post back later today. Until then, this is me, saying God Bless us, everyone.

Hey!

Since you posted on my questions thread I figured I gotta post on your blog!

What would you say was a day you felt closest to God?

Wow, someone actually posted on my blog!!! Joy! Ok, to answer your question, I think the closest I've ever felt to God was probably on my last birthday. January 19 of this year, my friend and I went to a Newsboys concert. It was AMAZING. It was almost over, and they played It Is You for their final song. When we sang that, the whole room had their hands up in the air and were singing to God. I felt the Spirit in me more at that one moment than ever before. It was truly amazing. Thanks again for posting here!

One final observation before I leave for the day: I believe that it is quite possible that Saddam Hussein NEVER REALLY EXISTED. There are so many body doubles and everything that I don't think he was a real person. Anyone else agree????

And I'm off for the night. I'll see ya'll tomorrow. Until then, this is me saying God Bless us, everyone.

Yeah, our SEALS are some bad mamba jahambas. But don't forget... there are also British and Israeli Elete Forces in Iraq, doing a lot of the grunt work right there with the Americans.

Well, life is slow, once again. We had drama class tonight, and are going to do this really stupid skit on Wednesday where I have to pretend I'm a ballarina, and say "La la, lu lu, oops I lost my tutu!" This is not good for a very manly guy. Not good at all.

I don't have much planned this week, so I don't know how often I'll post. BTW, I need more stuff to put on my "list of cool words and phrases", so if you have any ideas, please let me know. Until next time, this is me saying God Bless us, everyone.

Well, it's been an interesting couple of days. Yesterday, our old youth intern came back to our church and gave us our lesson. It was great to see him again. (a little background info: When I had just finished 6th grade, we went to VBS, but instead of participating in the regular VBS activities, all of us about-to-be 7th graders were off by ourselves, and usually the youth minister would come and tell us about being in the youth group. But it just so happened that that week, the youth minister had a cold, and wasn't able to come teach us. So we got taught by the brand new youth intern, who's name is Richie. He and I became close that week, and it carried over to my first two years in the youth group. Well, anyway, a couple months later, the actual youth minister left. And while we were without leadership, Richie, a 22 year old grad student, who as working 2 other jobs, and was engaged, took over every thing that went on in the youth group. He was our leader, our teacher, everything to us. We finally found a full-time minister last April, but Richie stayed on. Then in October, he told us he was leaving. It was hard on a lot of people, especially me.) Anyway, he came back last night. It was unbeliveably wonderful to see him again. After our Wednesday night youth service, me and some of my friends, and Richie, went to a restaurant. We spent 2 and a half hours just sitting there talking to him. It was GREAT.

I rented a couple movies last night. I got The Ring and Moonlight Mile. The Ring was pretty good, kinda scary. It was really cool how the stuff on the video tape made sense at the end. Moonlight Mile has got to be one of the best movies I've ever seen. It was awesome. (For more on my opinion of this movie, head over to the Oscar Nominees thread in the movie forum)

I heard the most....interesting song to day. It's called Marilyn Manson ate my girlfriend by Relient K. It was freaky.

Well, I guess that does it for today. Until next time, this is me saying God Bless us, everyone.

Rain, rain, go away...

Wow. We had some horrific weather yesterday. Tornadoes, hail, 70 mph wind gusts, 10 inches of rain....ya know, bad stuff.

Anyway, my 2 best friends, Russ and Blake, and I went to Taco Bell (:kshock: ) for lunch after church. While we were sitting there, we kept looking out the window at the pretty lightning bolts. All of a sudden, the sky started to turn kinda teal. Not being meteorologists, we had no clue what that was. When we got through and started to leave, it was pouring rain and huge gusts going on all around. We get in the car and start to drive, but Russ says it's coming down too hard, so we pulled over into the parking lot of Wal-Mart. I opened the door to go inside, and all of a sudden, this big gust of wind comes in and blows a ton of rain right into my face. When we finally get inside, we are literally dripping wet. We walk around for a minute, and we all call our parents. When Blake told his mom we were at Wal Mart, she did a very odd thing. Russ' and my parents were worried about us and stuff, but all his said was that he needed to pick up some detergent (sp) before we left. SO we go look outside, and it looks like it has cleared up a little, but Blake has to go buy the detergent. By the time he finishes, it's pouring rain again. The manager comes over the loudspeaker and tells all the shoppers and associates to go to the middle of the store, because there is a tornado warning. So we sit there for about half an hour. Russ said all we needed was his guitar, a campfire, and a chorus of Kumbaya, and we'd have ourselves a good time. So they FINALLY tell us it's ok for us to leave, and we head out to the car. We head down the road heading toward Madison, and get to a red light. The police have the road closed down, and when we look to our left, there is a HUGE tree in the road. So we take the only available road, which is ok, because it will almost give us a straight shot to the church where Blake left his car. Well, we get a little farther, and are just about a quarter of a mile from the church, and we come upon a road block. We look towards the church, and the road is flooded, and there are cars in the ditch. So we turn around and head back the way we came, but turn down a different road. Well, this road also has a tree in the middle of it. So we have to take another detour. We get going pretty good, and make it to the main highway going towards Madison. But we get a little ways down it, and there is ANOTHER tree in the middle of the road. So we turn around again, and go down a back road. We get a ways down it, and find out that it is flooded. So we turn around AGAIN. We go down another backroad, and are almost to Madison, when we come to an intersection. We get there just as the cops are putting out those little orange barrels b/c that road, too, is flooded. So we turn around and get on the interstate. We get off at the Madison exit, and everything is fine from there. So that is my long tale.

No, fortunately we live on a hill. But the creek that is just a couple houses down from us flooded, and water got into two of our neighbors' houses.

Freudian slip....

Yesterday was a big day for me. For a couple months, God has been leading me to get up and give the message, or sermon, or whatever you wanna call it, on Wednesday night at our youth service, called Rush Hour. Well, my youth minister agreed, and I got to speak last night. I was speaking on prayer. I came to a point when I said that we should pray for Saddam, because we are no better than him in the eyes of God. I was trying to say "God has saved us, so he can save Saddam also." But instead, I said "Saddam has saved us." Everyone thought it was funny. But other than that, it went pretty well.

Well, that's all for now. Until next time, this is me saying God bless us, everyone.

Hitler and Jesus???

"The Sadean Witnesses knock on doors of chrisitan homes in this region and delver this message to all christian citizens:

Not long ago the people of Germany were once held captive, captives of a man named Adolf Hitler. How he manage to enslaved the people was not only through the instruments of fear and terror but through another means, he held them captive with a story.

A story in which the Aryan race and the people of Germany in particular had been deprived of their rightful place in the world, bound, spat upon, raped, and ground into the dirt under the heel of mongrel races, communist and jews. A story which under the leadership of Hitler, the Aryan race would burst its bounds, wreck vengence on its oppressors, purify mankind of its defilement, and assume its rightful place as master of all races.

Reasonably , we can call the story Hitler told those people to nothing more than myth, a myth being a story interrelating man, the world and the gods. Not only did the German people believe Hitler's myth, they enacted it, they were all trying to make Hitler's myth of a Thousand Year Reich a reality.

You christians are captives of a similiar story, and you are also enacting the story you believe is true out, trying desparately to make it a reality and a truth. Some of you believe the story out of fear, you were told that if you didn't believe the story that was told to you and if you didn't act it out you would be sent to hell.

I am here to tell you, you don't have to believe in the story, you can believe in a new story if you want too or you can choose not to believe in any stories , or if you like you can come to understand all the stories that people tell and have not one single point of view but many."

When I read this, I thought it was the most stupid thing I've ever heard. I mean how can you compare Jesus to Hitler? And Christians to Nazis? I know atheists have some strange beliefs, but this is ridiculous.

Ok, anyway, tonight is the 3rd and final performance of our church's Easter pageant. It's been really good this year. It was from the point of view of the thief who died next to Jesus. As a backstage guy, i have to help put out the 2 thief crosses. They both weigh in excess of 100 pounds. Seriously. So, ya know, it's lots of work. Then we got fog machines, chior cues, a big heaven scene.....lots of stuff to do. But we've had a good turnout, so it's all worth it.

Well, that's all for now. Until next time, this is me saying God bless us, everyone.
