| I can't believe it. I can say that this has been unequivocably one of the best days of recent memory.
I had to work all 10 hours today, which normally is a bad thing. But I rented this game for my 'box called Sid Meier's Pirates, and while at first glance it may seem silly, it's quite possibly the most fun game I've ever played. I played from the time I got there straight through to when my grandfather showed up at 11. He told me to go and get out for a while. After arguing for a while, I gave in. I went around the corner to Gamestop. As you know, the only thing that's kept me sane for the past two months is my Season 3 DVD of Smallville. I've wanted the first two seasons as well, but they've between 50 and 60 everywhere I looked. I got to Gamestop, and I saw both seasons for 30. I couldn't believe my eyes. I of course snatched them both right up. I watched most of the first episode this afternoon, and I couldn't believe how much more awesome it was than I remember. Yay.
Russ came by right before I closed, and we went to Chick Fil A and Border's tonight. I still don't know what made me get into graphic novels so much lately, but I read most of another one tonight. I've always loved Superman, but lately, it's been much more in the forefront of my mind than usual. I see a lot of myself in his character. No, I can't fly, or outrun The Flash, or catch bullets in my bare hands, or wear my underwear on the outside of my pants (most of the time, anyway.) Superman always feels like he has to save the world. And I mean, ya know, he's Superman, so of course he can save the world. But it seems like more often than not, he fails. He does what he truly believes is the right thing, but it ends up doing more harm than good. On a much smaller scale, I think that kinda sums up a lot of my thought processes. I wanted to help everyone, and I've tried to do what I believe is right, but I've ended up messing things up. Superman would disappear for a while, but always come back when the world needed him. I ran away for a while, but now I'm ready to come back and face up to my future. So yeah. That example sucked, but that's ok.
After I got home, I called Katy. The first part of the conversation was one of the hardest things I've had to do. But we said what we needed to say, and I think we're better. We aren't where we were, obviously, but we're better. And I'm happy again.
At some point between the time Katy and I stopped talking about the past and the time Blair beeped in, I died, in a metaphysical sense. I finally put everything together, and decided I was tired of the person I had become. I made a lot of really hard decisions, and I'm actually ok now. I'm not depressed, for what seems like the first time ever. And...yeah. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below
Praise Him above ye Heavenly host
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost See? I did learn something from the methodist churches.
Yet another exciting day in the life of teh Jedi.

| So. There's a rather large cloud coming at us. And everyone is saying it's going to hit New Orleans hardest, but I know better. Jim Cantore from the Weather Channel is in Biloxi, down on our coast. I don't know how many of you pay attention to that station during hurricanes, but Jim Cantore is basically the Angel of Death. For the past couple of years, the place he's been has been the place where all the bad stuff happened. He was in Gulf Shores during Ivan, in Mobile the one after that, and in Pensacola for the last one. Those Pensacolans saw his omen, as well. They had signs everywhere that said "Go Home Jim." Basically, what this means is that New Orleans will get hit, but Biloxi will be wiped off the face of the planet. So it goes.
Today was a good last day of fun before everything is blown away. We're supposed to be without power for a few days after it gets here tomorrow afternoon. It's going to be a very interesting week indeed. I bought a couple Batman graphic novels today, and I have about 20 movies/TV shows that I need to find spots for in my room, so I won't be bored. I shall just say that I love you all, and I'll catch you all on the other side.
So long, and goodnight.

| Just to update you guys, things are okay in our town. We've been out of power for a couple of days, but our neighborhoods are slowly coming back together. The main problems we have are getting gas (lines over a mile long, almost everywhere is out) and ice. As inconvinient as it is, we were truly blessed not to see the sort of damage that our neighbors further south saw. Thank you all so much for the prayers, they mean the world to us.

| Hi. I'm here, and alive, and relatively undamaged. We just got power after 75 hours of darkness/intense heat/no computer. As Russ said, we came out very good, considering what happened just an hour or so south of here all the way to the coast. Our biggest problem is that there are thousands of people from Louisiana/the MS coast that have no where to go, and there is absolutely no gas in the entire area. But we have power, and everyone I know is perfectly alright. I'll be back in the next couple days to give a full account. Thanks for all the prayers.

| I got paid yesterday. In the past two weeks and the first three days of this week, I had 102 hours, giving me a $517 after taxes. Which is good, cuz I have a crap load of stuff to pay for. So...yay.
Oh yes, the hurricane...I left work about 11 Monday morning, and it started getting bad about an hour later. I watched Smallville until the power went out around 3, when the eye wall was getting closer. I read both Batman books (which were so insanely awesome that I can't describe it), then stood outside once the winds had slightly died off. And by died off, I mean they were around 30 or 40 insetead of 60 or 70. It didn't really rain that much. It rained constantly, but not very voluminously. People up and down our street had major tree damage, but we thankfully only had a few limbs knocked down. Habits never lost power, so I was forced to go to work Tuesday morning. There were a few hundred thousand people next door at the Donut Barn, and I had a few dozen come in looking for coffee and ice. Russ spent basically all of Tuesday and Wednesday there with me, until he got power back Wednesday afternoon. My sis and I stayed at my grandparents' Tuesday and Wednesday night, because they never lost power. Other than that, it was just a very long and tiring week, and I'm glad it's (mostly) over.
And since there is very little gas for a few more days, I'm pretty much stuck at the house. I ordered a bunch more comics the other day, so at least I'll be occupied. I've also just downloaded some piano music that I can use to make girls (at least the ones who liked The Notebook) eat out of my hand. Huzzah.
Yet another exciting day in the life of teh Jedi.

Art's sig is the result of Saturday night's discussion at his place over his sister's annoying cats. His brother mean-jokingly made the suggestion that they be cooked and served Chinese style (since everyone knew I was half Chinese) and I jumped right in and listed some ingredients I would need. Mwahahahahaaaah.
Oh yeah, and hi Andrew. I'm very glad you guys are okay, seeing what that crazy Katrina did to NO... sure doesn't seem fun to be around.

As am I. We are very blessed, especially now that the gas situation seems to be getting better.
I haven't had a burger in so long I'm about to go insane.
