As far as popular bassists go, Traa's not bad. I like his style. I haven't heard of most of the guys you've mentioned, though.

There was this one guy from a band in Portland. His name was Joe. He was really good. Extremely fast. Kinda like Steve Vai: the styleless wonder. Impressive, but not enjoyable music. He definitely gets my vote, though.

Grant Norsworthy from PC3 is one seriuously-talented bassist. I also rate Jon Thatcher from Delirious very highly, not that technical but serves the song (bassists take note, you don't need fast flashy bass-lines to do a song justice, it can often crowd). Also, on a local front, Brad Skerman from Toowoomba band COG 12 is pretty good. Seeing his evolution as a bassist has been really encouraging. He used to do fundamental things wrong (i.e tune a bass up to E for a song and forget to tune it back down to D for the next) but he is now a seriously tasty player. Also the bassist from The Teapot Dome Scandal (whose name escapes me right now) is super-talented. Her bass lines are the driving force behind the band's music (check it out, its not like anything else you've heard b4). GB,

Steve

ROCK ON!!!

"Sugah Bear"... AKA Otto Price .... is awesome. I wouldn't call him the best, but he's super cool.

In His love,

I heard from a friend (a very reliable source and big Dreamtheatre fan) that both John Myung(bassist) and James Labrie(vocals) from Dreamtheatre are both Christians.

There is an interview somewhere with John Myung where he said his biggest hero in life was Jesus Christ.

just because I can move my fingers across metal wires at a high rate of speed does not mean that you have to bow and worship me, I can not do anything for you, I think you should worship the allmighty god who created you
