October 20th

So, the fall retreat went very well. We listened to Louie Giglio on CD alot. He is a really good speaker. He talked about how we are in Christ and Chirst is in us and Christ and us are in God. He used tupperware as an analogy, using different sizes and such.
I had a little trouble getting the kids to listen to me at first, like on friday morning one of them slapped one of the other kids with a gel keyboard wrist rest. I tried to take it from the kid but I ended up giving him a warning since it was his first time doing it. He didn't do it again, thankfully. Other than that the kids seemed to listen to me pretty well and no one was disrespectful It was kind of strange, I think, for them, it was hard to see me as an adult volunteer after seeing me as a youth member for so long.
The praise band played very well and even got some more people interested in singing! So that is good and we are playing on the 9th of November for "praise and worship" night.I pray that all goes well then.

I began teaching a kid, his name is Billy, to play guitar on Sunday afternoon. He got a guitar from Wal-Mart about a month ago and it was already screwed up ( the first 3 frets were dead) so i tried changing the strings and making the bridge higher but it didn;t work so his parents are going to buy him a real guitar soon. Hopefully he will want to keep playing, because I think he could be pretty good if he tries.

man. this was a long post

That's cool. It's pretty stupid though when people buy a Wal-Mart guitar...I mean, what..do they really expect it to last?
