In related news, if my last name was Rogers, I would be in Med School right now, becoming a doctor... if only to rid myself of people calling me Mr. Rogers. Then, they would have to call me Dr. Rogers.

Ahh, he did so much for american society... Well, not really, but I did enjoy the dope puppets.

Benj, you can immortalize Fred Rogers when you go on a road trip. Only one Mr. Roger's to go...

So true, Slap_J, so true. Mr. Rogers is home now. No more Mr. Rogers to go for him. That is a happy thought.

Yeah, the article I'm reading says he was a Presbyterian minister. Also to be more specific, he died of stomach cancer.

Huh. I hadn't even heard he was sick. I guess he has fallen out of the public eye a bit.

He hasn't done any new "neighborhoods" for a couple of years now, so they will still run all of the "reruns", if you will.

It was kind of ironic that- when I learned of his death today- I had been thinking about the Neighborhood for the first time in years.

My brother used to cry if he missed Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, and I grew up on it as well. A sad, sad day.

Yeah, he did over 900 shows, the last one taping in December 2000.

Last i saw him, he did the coin toss at some football game, perhaps one of the college bowls, but i am not positive.
