In my opinion, Michigan and Ohio state will be the biggest rivalry in any sport.... because it's so full of tradition, and they hate each other so much.... Long live the rivalry and long live OHIO STATE BUCKEYES!!!

I think the Yale-Harvard rivalry is by far the most heated. Maybe not the the most publicized, but definitely the most heated.

I would say that Ohio State vs. Michigan is the most heated.

Yale vs. Harvard has the most tradition.

And with USC vs. UCLA, you can throw the teams' records out the window, it doesn't matter who the better team is. It's still a great game with the underdog winning quite a bit of the time.

I would also put Colorado vs. Nebraska as one of the great rivalries as well.

I fixed your poll... it's Stanford vs. Cal, not Standford vs. Cal State

BTW, Cal is not a state college. It's a UC. The University of California at Berkley.

That's my choice, because to me it is the biggest. A lot of this depends on your location. To me, The Big Game for the Stanford Axe is huge, because it's so highly publicized in my area.

1. I am a lifelong Texas fan and now attend Texas Tech and the Tech-Texas rivalry does NOT belong on this poll.

2. The Texas - Texas A&M rivalry is big, but not NEARLY as big as the meeting at Red River between Texas and Oklahoma. if that were on the list, i would vote for that.

since it isn't, i voted for the Michigan - Ohio State rivalry

Yeah, the Texas - OU game is much bigger, but lately Texas has had it's butt handed to it on a sling, so it hasn't been much of a rivalry lately.

Amen. One other question... why not University of South Carolina / Clemson? Last year Sports Illustrated called it the most underrated rivalry in the nation. Man, I hate Clemson...

For lack of an "other" choice, I'll vote OSU / scUM

the result isn't the makings of a rivalry.

and i don't really call leading the whole game until the last 11 minutes this year as "getting it's butt handed to it"

Well, I meant that Texas hasn't won that game in awhile, not the outcome of the game. It has been close, but still Texas has lost.

And I don't think I got that term right anyway - isn't it "butt handed to it in a sling?" I don't know.

True, a lot does depend on your location. I wouldn't have voted for this rivalry, because (1) I don't live in No Cal, and (2) besides the infamous "running through the band to win" incident, I can't think of any game that has stood out.

No Army/Navy? No Alabama/Auburn?

Texas/Texas Tech?
Alabama/Georgia?

Anyway, Ohio State/Michigan gets my vote of choices offered.
