Best keyboard songs

Hey. This thread is for you to post songs you think have the best keyboard or piano arrangements. I was listening to Chicago's "Glory of Love" when I thought of this thread. I know it's an oldie, but in my opinion, it has one of the best keyboard arrangements in the last 30 years. (At least from what I've heard.) "Only Hope" is great. "Thousand Miles" is really good. There are very few good keyboard solo's, but the arrangment of the one at the end of "Sweet Home Alabama" is decent. So, what songs do you just love the keyboard in?

Pretty much anything off of Caedmon's Call's In The Company Of Angels, but especially God Of Wonders. Josh Moore (the keyboardist for CC) takes what was originally a guitar solo and turns it into a really kicking B-3 solo... it rocks. The stuff he does during the rest of the song is really good too. His playing on the rest of the album is incredible.

Just about anything by Joy Electric, but particularly The White Songbook - both the album and the song by the same name. Lots of great stuff in there. Ronnie Martin is a great songwriter, and his chosen medium of expression (analog synthesizers) really works well for him. He has a great way of being able to convey emotion through his arrangements.

I really like Always Be My Home and My Father's Heart off of Rachael Lampa's debut CD Live For You. They are both really simple, yet extremely beautiful, piano ballads.

Lots of Downhere's stuff has great keyboard playing. The songs Calmer Of The Storm (featuring acoustic piano) and Free Me Up (featuring a wonderfully overdriven Wurly as well as some nice honky-tonk-ish piano fills - if I'm thinking of the right song) come to mind.

I always thought the little riff in Linkin Park's In The End was cool, even though it's really really simple. I just like the way it sounds, and I think the sound of the piano really fits in well with the riff.

I'm sure there are lots more, but that's what came to mind tonight. If I think of any others, I'll post again.

In His love,
Nate

Heya,

The piano (or keyboard?) in "My Immortal" by Evanescence. Just so beautiful to me.

I really like the piano arrangement in "These Should Be the Good Times" by Joy Electric, its just so cool. All things by Joy Electric are amazing, Ronnie is definitely very talented. The piano part of Cool Hand Luke's "Sideways" is pretty cool as is Lifehouse's "Eighties". "My Immortal" is pretty good, I like the one in their demo song "Eternal" much more, its incredibly cool. "A Penny Loafer Saved" by Relient K is very simple but pretty cool keyboard song. And I like "I Hate Christmas Parties" by Relient K but technically by Matthew Thiessen and the Earthquakes. It has a pretty cool piano base to it.

I love the keyboards on all of 3D's stuff. Especially Thief.

EvenThen! Come over to the Nichole Nordeman forum! You can also go to http://www.freewebs.com/simplicity -- my friend Hailey's site. We are always looking for another fellow fan. I love her music but hate her songbooks...

My piano loves: Coldplay, Norah Jones, Nichole, Sara Groves, Tori Amos--man, can she play.

I have the sheet music for "Only Hope" and "A Thousand Miles," and I play them religiously.
