| Buffalo 66 I watched this film yesterday.
An interesting little indie film. First time Vincent Gallo writes, directs and stars in this film. This film is all about characters. There isnt' a complex plot and it doesn't rely on effects or action sequences. This movie only cares about it charaters. For that matter, its really only about the lead character. We learn a bit about the others, but mainly we learn about the lead. We see his parents, his upbringing, how relates to people and a day in his life. Its very interesting. Not only can Mr. Gallo write and act, he also has a very interesting and unique directing style. I've read reviews that called a lot of the shots bland and lazy. That review didn't get the point. It wasn't lazy, it was chosen. The conversation was dull, the shot was dull and the scene was incredible. With everything else going on in the scene, it fit together perfectly. The shot was what was needed. Of course this film isn't perfect and it isnt' for everyone. Just an interesting change from your average mainstream film.
Anyone seen it? |
