Our ELCA congregation Concord Lutheran Church in Rochester NY, does a contemporary service as our second service every Sunday morning. I also play a Saturday Evening comtemporary service at Messiah Lutheran another ELCA congregation also here in Rochester. The most musically contemporary service that I take part in is held at our church on a montly basis. It is what we refer to as the "One Light Service". It is a predominantly youth led service (made up of youth from the various churches in the Greater Fingerlakes Conference) held one Sunday evening a month (I'm playing guitar for them for the time being, until they can find a replacement for the Youth guitarist who went off to college this year).
I got another church for you, but once again I bet your not willing to move to Grand Forks North Dakota (no it's not in Canada, you'd be surprised how many people ask me that) Anyway my church University Lutheran is starting a contemporary service on wednesday nights, so far it's just been a guitar, piano and the occasional flute. but now we're adding drums a bass and hopefully a violin. Involving a massive rework of the sound system and renovating part of the sanctuary.
