I scream along to the song reinventing your exit by underoath. I don't have underoath's CD but I have ther song from X 2005 CD. I don't find it challenging to scream. I think it is mostly just whispering in a rough tone. Does anyone agree?

I scream to Skillet, Kutless, Pillar, a couple o' songs by Seventh Day Slumber, Chevelle, etc. I like screaming. The thing I don't get is why people think that screaming messes up your voice. It's actually quite easy to do without screwing yourself up: what I do is start really soft and practice making a shrieking sound, and then I just push from my diaphragm (sp?) and blast it. One thing I love doing is modulating my pitch and working on changing pitches mid-scream. Excellent workout for the vocals...if you do it right. If you don't...I don't envy the loss of voice you may experience.

I scream for my band. It's really like singing you can keep practicing and eventually you will have a pretty good scream voice. A good way to start is to scream along to your favorite songs.

evanescence doesn't scream. neither does 12 stones or kutless. try something a little less "sunday school" like AS I LAY DYING, HE IS LEGEND, SHOWBREAD, THE SHOWDOWN, NORMA JEAN (bless the martyr, kiss the child).

12 stones actually doesn't scream. screaming requires engaging vocal cords. if you listen closely enough you can tell. he does a whisper-like thingie, turns up the volume, adds fx and distortion, and and attempts to pass it off as a scream. cheap and lame.

i scream, and i sound most like the guy in justifide. he's cool.

....yeah......flyleaf.......sure.......i scream in the emery/underoath style. i wish i could do a norma jean scream. (either lol). our lead singer does more of a Beloved type of scream. i dont think hes tapping into his full potential though.

DEMON HUNTER!!!

You know, I wish I could scream like demon hunter. The rock. I have tried to scream into a mike, but I felt too embarrassed by myself to even try. I have tried by myself but it SUCKED! Maybe because it is my voice hasn't completely changed yet. Any help? I have heard of throating but I am not sure how to do it. I have a metal band and I play guitar but there is no vocals so it sucks. We need a vocalist! (and a bass)

Honestly

I can't beleive you guys would sit around here all day long talking about incredible screamers and not mention Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. He has an astounding scream, and can do it night after night after night. He is without a doubt one of the best screamers on the entire music scence today.
