| Let's Play Shogi! Has anyone here ever heard of Shogi? It's the japanese version of a game that I believe was brought from India. when it went to Europe it became Orthodox Chess and when it went to Japan it became Shogi.
Basics: You start with a nine by nine uncheckered board.
players start with twenty pieces
9x pawns
2x knights
2x lances
2x silver general
2x gold general
1x rook
1x bishop
1x king
peices have no distinctive colour to them but their loyalty is determined by the direction they're pointed.
if a piece is captured it becomes part of your enemies army
there are more rules and stuff but I'll wait to see if there is any interest in the game before I post further
