In a nutshell:

It is a movement to restore the church to its original practices. I'll list the most common ones (even though some of you would disagree)

Baptism by immersion
Communion every Lords day
Leadership by Elders
etc...

Thats just to name a few. I can make a good post on this tomorrow and give the details. But as of right now at 1:27 in the morning when I am sick and with fever, I'm going to bed

There is a "Restoration Movement" that grew out of Campbellism / CoC as I understand it, but I don't know much about it, so I'm not sure if you are talking about the same thing or something else...

I don't understand what you mean by that Travis. What do you think original means?

This is an interesting one is it not. Explain- historical precedents are accepted by me- as I am partially-confused on the issue of baptism on a whole, other than that we are commanded to be.

(and since I have been, it's kind of moot point with me)

hmm, what else?

I like the second two of those three, and I like the idea.

I really like the idea of weekly communion.

Since the rule is to not post entire articles, I will direct you to one:

http://www.mun.ca/rels/restmov/who.html

This is a relatively small article about the RM.

My church believes and does these things. We are led by three Elders cause our church is small. We had a pastor but he stepped down a couple years back. What other things does the restoration movement follow. We never thought of ourselves in this light so.... we just try to follow biblical example. We meet in homes (small groups) during the week. A mix of modern & hymnal (instruments added) worship. What else?

Well, you said original practices, so I assume that you have some kind of historical evidence to back it up?

I'm all for it if you do--being a Baptist at the moment.

Well I think the Biblical record is evidence enough. If you do a study on the Greek word for baptism, it means immersion and immersion only.

Every instance of baptism in the NT was immersion.
