Mike Myers schemes to rape films

In a potentially disasterous move, Mike Myers wants to introduce the idea of film sampling. That's right, he wants to be the Puff Diddy Daddy of film. Here is the scoop from Joblo.com:
------------------

The by-line on this story according to the always reliable Hollywood Reporter is: "The plan is for DreamWorks to acquire the rights to existing motion picture hits and classics, write new story lines and -- with the use of digital technology -- insert Myers and other actors into the film to create an entirely new piece of entertainment." Sounds like KUNG POW to me!! The sad part is that the release of this bit of news was accompanied by an actual quote from Myers who seems to have lost all hold of his marbles: "Rap artists have been doing this for years with music, and now we are able to take that same concept and apply it to film. Think of me as the Puff Daddy of film or 'M. Diddy' or 'M & M' or just 'M,' or maybe when you sample movies you don't need a special name."

-------------------

All I know is that he better not mess with any Kubrick movies or there will be hell to pay.

Wow, that sounds interesting. I have no idea how they'd pull that off. And why? Just for the novelty of it?

Haha, that whole concept seems totally hilarious to me. Haha how he plans to actually pull that off, i have no idea. I really don't see that as being really great or close to it, but it should prove to be interesting, to say the least.

If it was Jerry Bruckheimer who was saying this, I would be very worried. But since it's Mike Myers, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that it will be entertaining.

I was about to say sounds like Kung Pow before I read it.

Maybe he wants to do a hi-tech spoof?

Otherwise he is nuts.

Unless you are doing a complete spoof like Kung Pow I see no reason to do anything like this. Remakes can be bad enough sometimes, but to try and rearrange some other movie in a serious manner? Really though I'll have to wait and see how it turns out.

Sounds fascinating. Or it would, in another's hands.
