Wes Craven's "Alice"

"Alice" is an upcoming film based off of a video game........WAIT don't stop reading yet! This one actually has a cool premise. It is sort of a sequel to Alice In Wonderland. Here is a summary:

"A sort of sequel to Alice and Wonderland, where Alice has spent ten years in an insane assylum trying to convince them that her expiriences in wonderland were not fake. She gets a chance to return to Wonderland only to find it dark and twisted.

"Alice is sleeping peacefully and dreaming of Wonderland and she awakes to terrible screaming. A fire has started in the house, and her parents are trapped in their bedroom. She escapes, but blames herself for their death, and is now so psychologically troubled that she no longer speaks or reacts to anything. She is emitted to an asylum, where she emerges herself into Wonderland, but it isn't the land she remembers. It's a dark and twisted nightmare, and now she must try and make it what it once was. She discovers though that this is not only a battle for Wonderland, but a battle for her life."

Natalie Portman is rumored to be the lead.

I was really intrigued by the idea of this film until I found out...........the studio wants to make it PG-13. Thus, making this one bite the dust before it's even made. You can't make a twisted horrific Wonderland if it's limited to a PG-13 rating. Let's hope the studio comes to their senses and allow it be be rated R.

August 8, 2002... A source reports that Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil) has spoken with Wes Craven about playing the lead role in Alice. The script rewrite is not yet complete. [Anonymous.]

Ugh. This all reeks of vile Resident Evil-ness. The PG-13 thing is going to kill the film. This movie is now officially off my radar.
